We Don't Deserve Anything

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

We Don't Deserve Anything

Narrated `Aisha:
Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "Do good deeds properly, sincerely, and moderately and know that your deeds will not make you enter Paradise and that the most beloved deed to Allah is the most regular and constant even if it were little."

If our actions are accepted and we enter Paradise, it is from the bounty of Allah.

You will Never Find Anything to Worry About if You Implement This

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

Know that a servant is in one of four states. There’s no fifth. The servant is either in a state of blessing, tribulation, obedience, or disobedience.
If you are in a state of blessing, what you should do is be grateful.
If you are in a state of tribulation, what you should do is be patient.
If you are in a state of obedience, what you should do is see it as a blessing from Allah that you don’t deserve.
If you are in a state of disobedience, then what you should do is to repent.

(Abu Abbas al-Mursi’s advice to his student, Imam ibn Ata’illa, when he came to him over something that was troubling and saddened him)

Why People Failed Themselves

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

Why People Failed Themselves

People fail in this life and the next because they are often drawn to worldly life. They are drawn to worldly life because of its immediate pleasures, material comforts, and fleeting joys. Pursuing wealth, status, and entertainment can be intoxicating, making it easy to forget the temporary nature of this life.

Allah reminds us in the Quran: “And the worldly life is not but amusement and diversion; but the home of the Hereafter is best for those who fear Allah, so will you not reason?” (Surah Al An’am 6:32).

This Ayah calls us to reflect and prioritize what truly matters—eternal success in the Hereafter. Those who fear Allah and live with purpose understand that this life is a test, and the real reward lies with Him in the next life.

Recipe for Success

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

Recipe for Success

The recipe for success is built upon faith, righteous actions, sincerity, justice, patience, and reliance on Allah.

Allah swears, "By time, Indeed, mankind is in loss, except for those who have believed and done righteous deeds and advised each other to truth and advised each other to patience. (Surah al-Asr 103:1-3).

True success is not measured by worldly gains alone but by steadfastness in worship, good character, and striving for the Hereafter. Trusting Allah’s plan, maintaining sincerity in deeds, justice, and persevering through trials ensure spiritual and worldly success.

Allah reminds us, "...And whoever fears Allah, He will make for him a way out and provide for him from where he does not expect..." (Surah at-Talaq 65:2-3).

Virtues of the 15th Night of Sha'ban

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
Virtues of the 15th Night of Sha'ban

The 15th Night of Sha`ban is one of the greatest nights of the year.`Ata’ bin Yasar said that after Laylat al-Qadr there is no night better than the Fifteenth Night of Sha`ban. Its greatness is due to the divine gifts that are bestowed during it.

The Prophet (ﷺ) said: “Allah gazes at His creation on the fifteenth night of Sha`ban and then forgives all His slaves except for two types of people: those who attribute partners to Allah and those who have rancor for their fellow Muslims.” (ibn Majah)

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “When this night comes, we should spend it in prayer and fast the following day, because truly Allah calls out to His slaves from sunset until dawn: “Is there anyone seeking forgiveness from Me so that I may forgive him? Is there anyone seeking provision from Me so I may provide for him? Is there anyone suffering so I may relieve his suffering?”

The Prophet (ﷺ) said: “Our Lord, Blessed and Exalted, descends every night to the lowest heaven when one-third of the night remains and says: ‘Who is calling upon Me, so I may answer him? Who is asking from Me, so I may give him? Who is seeking My forgiveness, so I may forgive him?’” (Bukhari & Muslim)

May Allah forgive all our sins, remove any evil in our hearts, and grant us Ramadhan in the best states. Aameen.

Building Momentum for Ramadhan

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

Building Momentum for Ramadhan

Sha'ban is a blessed month that serves as a preparation for Ramadhan, allowing us to build momentum in worship and devotion. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) increased his fasting during Sha'ban, and one of the best ways to follow his Sunnah is by fasting on the White Days (13th, 14th, and 15th of the lunar month).

These voluntary fasts help purify the heart, increase taqwa, and make the transition into Ramadhan easier. Use this time to strengthen your connection with the Quran, engage in dhikr, and seek forgiveness.

May Allah grant us barakah in Sha'ban and allow us to reach Ramadhan in the best state. Aameen.

Seeking Permission Before Entering

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

Seeking Permission Before Entering

'Ata' said, "I asked Ibn 'Abbas, 'Does one ask permission of one's sister?' He replied, 'Yes.' I repeated it and said, 'My two sisters live in my room and I provide for them and spend on them, so do I ask them for permission?' He said, 'Yes. Do you want to see them naked?' Then he recited, 'O you who believe! Those you own as slaves and those of you who have not as yet reached puberty should ask your permission to enter at three times: before the Dawn Prayer and when you have undressed at noon and after the Night Prayer - three times of nakedness for you.' (Surah an-Nur 24:56) Ibn 'Abbas said, 'He did not command these individuals to ask permission other than at these three times of nakedness.' Then he went on to say, 'The verse in Surah an-Nur:57 is: 'Once your children have reached puberty, they should ask your permission to enter as those before them also asked permission.'"(al-Adab al-Mufrad)

Privacy and modesty are fundamental in Islam: Even within the home, individuals should respect the personal space of family members.

Children and household members must ask before entering private spaces at certain times, and once they reach puberty, they must always seek permission.

Even between siblings, maintaining proper boundaries and privacy is important.

Parents should teach children these etiquettes to instill respect and modesty early.

Going to Allah with a Sound Heart

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

Going to Allah with Qalb Salim—a sound, pure heart—is the ultimate goal of a believer seeking true success. The Quran reminds us, "The Day when neither wealth nor children will benefit, except for he who comes to Allah with a sound heart" (Quran 26:88-89). A Qalb Salim is free from arrogance, envy, hatred, and spiritual diseases that corrupt the soul. It is a heart that surrenders fully to Allah, filled with sincerity, love, and reliance upon Him alone. Attaining this state requires constant purification through repentance, dhikr, sincerity in worship, and striving to align our desires with divine guidance. Only with such a heart can we hope to attain Allah’s mercy and eternal success in the Hereafter.

May Allah grant us a pure and sound heart. Aameen.

Let’s Read Surah Kahf Today (Friday) -- Humilty

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

Let’s Read Surah Kahf Today (Friday)

The story of Dhul-Qarnayn in Surah Al-Kahf (18:83-98) describes a just and powerful king to whom Allah granted authority. He traveled across lands, helping people and establishing justice. When faced with the corruption of Gog and Magog (Ya’juj and Ma’juj), he built a massive iron barrier to contain them.

[Dhul-Qarnayn] said, "This is a mercy from my Lord; but when the promise of my Lord comes, He will make it level, and ever is the promise of my Lord true." (18:98)

This story highlights justice, humility, and trust in Allah in leadership and life.

Being a Good Companion

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

Just as we seek righteous companions, we must strive to be good friends to others. The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "None of you [truly] believes until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself."

(Bukhari, Muslim)

Being a good companion means:

  • Offering sincere advice and encouragement.
  • Refraining from gossip and slander.
  • Being trustworthy and supportive.
  • Uplifting others in times of difficulty.

Avoid Harmful Associations

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

Be cautious about deep attachments with those who lead us away from Allah. Negative companionship can manifest in various ways, including:

  • Encouraging sinful behavior

  • Mocking religious obligations

  • Spreading doubts about Islam

  • Engaging in excessive worldly distractions

Allah warns in the Quran:

"And do not incline toward those who do wrong, lest you be touched by the Fire, and you would not have other than Allah any protectors; then you would not be helped." (Surah Hud 11:113)

  • Honesty: They advise you truthfully and guide you toward good.
  • Patience: They remain supportive in times of hardship.
  • Reminder of Allah: They encourage worship and remembrance.
  • Good Character: They embody humility, kindness, and respect

Reality of Death

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

Death is the only certainty in life, yet it is the most neglected reality. Many live as if they will never leave this world, becoming absorbed in material pursuits. Allah reminds us: "Wherever you may be, death will overtake you, even if you should be within towers of lofty construction."

(Surah An-Nisa 4:78)

The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) frequently reminded his companions to reflect on death, a powerful motivator for righteous living. He said: "Remember often the destroyer of pleasures: death."

(Sunan Ibn Majah)
