Let's Read Surah Kahf Today (Friday) -- A Calamity Averting Bigger Calamity

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

Allah tells us in Surah Kahf that two parents lost a child and what could be a bigger calamity than that. But the Quran tells us there would be a bigger calamity if the child would grow up. The child would be the worst child imaginable, the most painful and abusive son to the parents. And that is a worse pain than a memory of an innocent child who had gone than a living child who is constantly causing you pain and stress, and be rude to you and obnoxious.

[[So they set out, until when they met a boy, al-Khidh r killed him. [Moses] said, "Have you killed a pure soul for other than [having killed] a soul? You have certainly done a deplorable thing." (74)

And as for the boy, his parents were believers, and we feared that he would overburden them by transgression and disbelief. (80) ]]

[Quran, Al Kahf 18:74 & 80]

Even the loss of a child, Allah demonstrates that a bigger calamity can actually be lifted. So, every calamity should be looked as a potential means of averting greater calamity.

May Allah save us from all calamities. Aameen.
