In the Name of Allah, Most Merciful, Most Compassionate
Allah Most High says in Surah Aleimran,
And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not become divided. And remember the favor of Allah upon you... [Quran, Aleimran 3:103]
Abu Shurayh al-Khuza’i reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings upon him) came out to them one day and he said, “Rejoice! Do you not witness that there is no God but Allah and I am the messenger of Allah?” They said yes. The Prophet said, “Verily, this Quran is a rope. One end is in the hand of Allah and the other end is in your hands. Hold fast to it, for you will never be lead astray or ruined ever again.”
Whether we realize it or not, the lockdown is a huge blessing. Now more than ever, we have all the time to read and learn the Quran. We now don't have the excuse of being busy for not reading the Quran everyday and comtemplating on the verses.
Alhamdulillah, Allah is giving you all the time in the world to focus on His Book by the global lockdown. So make the best use of the lockdown and unlock the Quran. It is through deep thinking and contemplating that we develop certainty (yaqeen). So what are you waiting for? Let's cut the rope of the dunya and hold on to the rope of Allah.
Great results will come out of this isolation, inshaa Allah, if we have sincere intention to understand the Quran and commit to live by it .
Prophet Muhammed (peace and blessings be upon him): It was in isolation in a cave that was given prophethood.
Prophet Yunus (peace be upon him): It was in isolation in the belly of a fish that he was forgiven.
Prophet Musa (peace be upon him): It was the isolation in a basket that baby Musa was saved from Fir'aun.
Also, take the life cycle of a caterpillar. The time taken for a butterfly’s life cycle to be completed could be anything from a single month to a complete year. The last phase of the life cycle is when the caterpillar keeps itself in isolation for a period of time and comes out with flying colors called butterfly.
Inshaa Allah we too will come out of this Coronavirus crisis with flying colors. But first we have to connect with the Quran.
May Allah lift Coronavirus quickly and let us out of this trial with flying colors. May Allah make the Quran our best companion in this life and the next. Aameen.
Allahumma salli 'ala Muhammad wa 'ala aalihi wa sahbihi wasallam.
And Allah knows best and is Most Wise, and He alone grants success, and to Him is the final return of all.
Wassalaam

Concerned About Coronavirus? Wake Up For Tahajjud and Supplicate
In the Name of Allah, Most Merciful, Most Compassionate
If we are truly concerned about Coronavirus, wake up for Tahajjud prayer and supplicate earnestly. Ask Allah for forgiveness and His mercy and ask Him to lift Coronavirus from the world.
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that:
Allah's Messenger (Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: "Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He, descends to the earth's heaven every night when the first third of the night has passed. He says: "I am the Sovereign. Is there any who calls upon Me so that I may respond to him? Is there any who asks of Me that I may give him? Is there any who seeks forgiveness from Me so that I may forgive him?' He continues in that until the illumination of Al-Fajr." [Bukhari and Muslim]
Salman al-Farsi (may Allah be pleased with him) quoted the Prophet (Allh bless him and grant him peace) as saying: "Observe the night prayer, it was the practice of the righteous before you and it brings you closer to your Lord and it is penance for evil deeds and erases the sins and repels disease from the body."
It is mentioned in another Hadith that the Prophet (Allah bless him and grant him peace) said that: “When the servant of Allah turns to his Lord in the middle of the dark night, and whispers to Him, Allah establishes His light in his heart . . . then He tells the angels: O my angels, look at my servant. He has turned to Me in the middle of the dark night while the false ones are playing, and the heedless ones are sleeping; bear witness that I have forgiven him”.
Even though Tahajjud prayer is not an obligatory (fard/wajib) prayer, this prayer is regarded as the most virtuous prayer after the obligatory prayers. This prayer is so special and so magnificent. There is an enormous amount of blessings and great importance to tahajjud prayer. Leaving it is a tremendous loss.
“Tahajjud” is derived from Arabic word “hajada” which means that awakes in the night.
The last third portion of the night is the best time to perform Tahajjud prayer. There is not specific rak’ahs for Tahajjud prayer. One can offer a lot or little.
Tahajjud prayer is part of the Sunnah of the Prophet (Allah bless him and grant him peace) which Muslims should follow all the time; it’s not something confined to Ramadhan.
Allah Most High says,
“Establish prayer at the decline of the sun [from its meridian] until the darkness of the night and [also] the Qur’an of dawn. Indeed, the recitation of dawn is ever witnessed. And from [part of] the night, pray with it as additional [worship] for you; it is expected that your Lord will resurrect you to a praised station.” [Quran, Al-Isra' 17:78-79]
This order, although it was specifically directed to the Prophet (Allah bless him and grant him peace), also refers to all Muslims, since the Prophet (Allah bless him and grant him peace) is a perfect example and guide for us in all matters.
Moreover, performing Tahajjud prayers regularly qualifies one as of the righteous and earns one Allah's bounty and mercy. Allah Most High says,
Indeed, the righteous will be among gardens and springs, (15) Accepting what their Lord has given them. Indeed, they were before that doers of good. (16) They used to sleep but little of the night, (17) And in the hours before dawn they would ask forgiveness, (18) [Quran, Adh-Dhariyat 15-18]
In praising those who perform the late night prayers, Allah Most High says,
And it is He who has made the night and the day in succession for whoever desires to remember or desires gratitude. (62) And the servants of the Most Merciful are those who walk upon the earth easily, and when the ignorant address them [harshly], they say [words of] peace, (63) And those who spend [part of] the night to their Lord prostrating and standing [in prayer] (64) And those who say, "Our Lord, avert from us the punishment of Hell. Indeed, its punishment is ever adhering; (65) Indeed, it is evil as a settlement and residence." (66) [Quran, Al-Furqan: 63-66]
Next to these Quranic verses, there also exist a number of hadiths that reinforce the importance of Tahajjud:
`Abdullah ibn as-Salam (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: "When the Prophet (Allah bless him and grant him peace) came to Madinah, the people gathered around him and I was one of them. I looked at his face and understood that it was not the face of a liar. The first words I heard him say were: 'O people, spread the salutations, feed the people, keep the ties of kinship, and pray during the night while the others sleep and you will enter Paradise in peace."' [Hakim, Ibn Majah & Tirmidhi]
Abdullah ibn `Amr reports that the Prophet (Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: “The most beloved fast to Allah is the fast of (Prophet) Dawood (alayhissalaam). And the most beloved prayer to Allah is the prayer of (Prophet) Dawood (alayhissalaam). He (Prophet Dawood (alayhissalaam)) would sleep half of the night and then pray during the next third of the night and then sleep during the last sixth of the night. And he would fast one day and not fast the next.” [Bukhari and Muslim]
Abu Hurayra (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and grant him peace), his family, and companions) said, “The best prayer after the obligatory prayers is the night prayer.”[Muslim]
Narrated Al-Mughira: The Prophet (Allah bless him and grant him peace) used to stand (in the prayer) or pray till both his feet or legs swelled. He was asked why (he offered such an unbearable prayer) and he said, “should I not be a thankful slave.” [Bukhari]
Narrated Salim’s father: In the life-time of the Prophet (Allah bless him and grant him peace) whosoever saw a dream would narrate it to Allah’s Apostle (Allah bless him and grant him peace). I had a wish of seeing a dream to narrate it to Allah’s Apostle (Allah bless him and grant him peace) I was a grown up boy and used to sleep in the Mosque in the life-time of the Prophet (Allah bless him and grant him peace). I saw in the dream that two angels caught hold of me and took me to the Fire which was built all round like a built well and had two poles in it and the people in it were known to me. I started saying, “I seek refuge with Allah from the Fire.” Then I met another angel who told me not to be afraid. I narrated the dream to Hafsah who told it to Allah’s Apostle (Allah bless him and grant him peace). The Prophet (Allah bless him and grant him peace) said, “Abdullah is a good man. I wish he prayed Tahajjud.” After that ‘Abdullah (i.e. Salim’s father) used to sleep but a little at night. [Bukhari]
Narrated ‘Aisha: Allah’s Apostle (Allah bless him and grant him peace) used to offer eleven Raka'at and that was his prayer. He used to prolong the prostration to such an extent that one could recite fifty verses (of the Quran) before he would lift his head. He used to pray two Raka'at (Sunna) before the Fajr prayer and then used to lie down on his right side till the call-maker came and informed him about the prayer. [Bukhari]
When the Prophet (Allah bless him and grant him peace) got up at night to offer the Tahajjud prayer, he used to say:
O Allah! All the praises are for you, You are the Holder of the Heavens and the Earth, And whatever is in them. All the praises are for You; You have the possession of the Heavens and the Earth And whatever is in them. All the praises are for You; You are the Light of the Heavens and the Earth And all the praises are for You; You are the King of the Heavens and the Earth; And all the praises are for You; You are the Truth and Your Promise is the truth, And to meet You is true, Your Word is the truth And Paradise is true And Hell is true And all the Prophets (Peace be upon them) are true; And Muhammad is true, And the Day of Resurrection is true. O Allah! I surrender (my will) to You; I believe in You and depend on You. And repent to You, And with Your help I argue (with my opponents, the non-believers) And I take You as a judge (to judge between us). Please forgive me my previous And future sins; And whatever I concealed or revealed And You are the One who make (some people) forward And (some) backward. There is none to be worshiped but you.
Sufyan said that `Abdul Karim Abu Umaiya added to the above, 'Wala haula Wala quwata illa billah' (There is neither might nor power except with Allah).
Allahumma salli 'ala Muhammad wa 'ala aalihi wa sahbihi wasallam.

Passing the Trial of COVID -- Stay at Home, Read and Learn the Quran and Reflect
In the Name of Allah, Most Merciful, Most Compassionate
Allah did not create us to enjoy and be merry. But Allah created us to worship Him and created the world in order for us to know Him. He has prepared Paradise for the believers. And He tests us in order to make evident those who are truthful and lying about their Iman (faith). The ones who pass the test are those who are steadfast in their obedience to Allah and His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him).
Alif, Lam, Meem (1) Do the people think that they will be left to say, "We believe" and they will not be tried? (2) But We have certainly tried those before them, and Allah will surely make evident those who are truthful, and He will surely make evident the liars. (3) Or do those who do evil deeds think they can outrun Us? Evil is what they judge. (4) [Quran, Al Ankabut 29:1-4]
Allah is now testing us with COVID which cause the world to be in a lockdown. How we react to this crisis will get us through this test or not.
How do we react? First if you have nothing pressing to be outside, stay at home and spend much of your time reading and learning the Quran and reflecting on the meanings.
Narrated Abu Musa al-Ash'ari:
The Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said: Before you there will be commotions like pieces of a dark night in which a man will be a believer in the morning and an infidel in the evening. He who sits during them will be better than he who gets up, and he who gets up during them is better than he who walks, and he who walks during them is better than he who runs. They (the people) said: What do you order us to do? He replied: Keep to your houses.

Allah Most High says in Surah Nahl,
And Allah presents an example: a city which was safe and secure, its provision coming to it in abundance from every location, but it denied the favors of Allah. So Allah made it taste the envelopment of hunger and fear for what they had been doing. (112) And there had certainly come to them a Messenger from among themselves, but they denied him; so punishment overtook them while they were wrongdoers. (113)
[Quran, An-Nahl 16:112-113]
Allah Most High says in Surah A-Rum:
Turn to Allah:
So direct your face toward the religion, inclining to truth. [Adhere to] the fitrah of Allah upon which He has created [all] people. No change should there be in the creation of Allah. That is the correct religion, but most of the people do not know. (30) [Adhere to it], turning in repentance to Him, and fear Him and establish prayer and do not be of those who associate others with Allah (31) [Or] of those who have divided their religion and become sects, every faction rejoicing in what it has. (32) [Quran, Ar-Rum 30:30-32]
Don't Cause Corruption in the Land:
Corruption has appeared throughout the land and sea by [reason of] what the hands of people have earned so He may let them taste part of [the consequence of] what they have done that perhaps they will return [to righteousness]. (41) [Quran, Ar-Rum 30:41]
May Allah grant us steadfastness in His religion, keep us safe, lift COVID from around the world and grant complete recovery to those who are infected by it. Allah is All Hearing and All Knowing. Aameen.
Allahumma salli 'ala Muhammad wa 'ala aalihi wa sahbihi wasallam.
And Allah knows best and is Most Wise, and He alone grants success, and to Him is the final return of all.
Wassalaam

Trials and Tribulations of Coronavirus Pandemic
In the Name of Allah, Most Merciful, Most Compassionate
Prophet Yunus alayhissalaam was swallowed by a fish and he called out within the darkness of the belly of the fish and Allah immediately saved him. Allah Most High says in the Quran,
And [mention] the man of the fish, when he went off in anger and thought that We would not decree [anything] upon him. And he called out within the darknesses, "There is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers." (87) So We responded to him and saved him from the distress. And thus do We save the believers. (88) [Quran, Al Anbiya 21:87-88]
Had he not been of those who remember Allah, he would have remained in its belly until the Day of Judgment. Allah saved him because he was of the people of remembrance of Allah. Allah Most High says in the Quran,
Then the fish swallowed him, while he was blameworthy. (142) And had he not been of those who exalt Allah, (143) He would have remained inside its belly until the Day they are resurrected. (144) [Quran, As-Saffat 37:142-144]
The current pandemic of Coronavirus is a test for the believers. A test for the believers is a gift from Allah. Face it with patience and steadfastness. There is a tremendous reward for the test. We take precautions and we ask Alah for wellness, but we don't fear these things. Don't be shaken by it but rather respond to it in a way that is beloved and pleasing to Allah. Alhamdulillah we are still alive and well. Come to know Allah when times are still easy and Allah will know you when times are difficult.
In our lives we take the means and we trust Allah. This is the nature of the believer. Same goes with the current tribulations of Coronavirus, we take the means to not get it or give it to someone else, exercise caution, and trust Allah. Don't fear it or busy ourselves with the tribulations but rather turn to the One who sent it for He is the One who can lift it.
People seems busy with every news about Coronavirus. What is going to happen in this world by reading more of the news? By reading more of the news, can you affect the global outcome of the virus? Most likely not. It is spreading and there will be more cases today than yesterday. We ask Allah for 'afiyah (well-being).
All of us can give something of our precious time. If there is something you can do, be a part of the solution. Actively raise consciouness and assistance. Recite the Quran and donate reward for those who are affected. Spend some time in prayers. Spend some moment to make a heartfelt supplication. Our care cannot be expressed by watching the news.
We ask Allah to protect everyone from this tribulations and grant us ease and facilitation. We ask Allah to grant us faith, certitude, steadfastness and gratitide to respond to this tribulation in the way beloved and pleasing to Him. We ask Allah to replace the difficulty with ease. We ask Allah to answer the call of the needy, the weak, the elderly, the righteous and the distress. We ask Allah to not make us of the critics, the commentators, or the speculators, but rather He makes us of those who are sincere and concern, who supplicate, assist and give charity and encouragement and make the most of the opportunities for good that open in our lives as a result of the changes that are taking place in our lives. Aameen.
Allahumma salli 'ala Muhammad wa 'ala aalihi wa sahbihi wasallam. And Allah knows best and is Most Wise, and He alone grants success, and to Him is the final return of all.

Du'a For Protection From Harm
In the Name of Allah, Most Merciful, Most Compassionate
Du'a for protection from harm. Recite it three times every morning and evening and trust in Allah.
1) I seek the protection of Allah's Perfect Words from the evil of whatever He has created.
'A'udhu bikalimatillahit-tammati min sharri ma khalaq
Hadith:
Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:
A man came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and said, "What a trouble I suffered from a scorpion which stung me last night!" He (ﷺ) said, "Had you said in the evening: 'A'udhu bikalimatillahit-tammati min sharri ma khalaqa (I seek the protection of Allah's Perfect Words from the evil of whatever He has created),' it would not have harmed you."
[Muslim]
or Say 33 times morning and evening
'Uthman said that he heard the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, say, "A person will not be harmed by anything if he says every morning and evening 33 times, 'In the Name of Allah by whose Name nothing in the earth or the heaven is harmed. He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.'"
2) In the Name of Allah with Whose Name there is protection against every kind of harm in the earth or in the heaven, and He is the All-Hearing and All- Knowing
Bismillahil-ladhi la yadurru ma'as-mihi shai'un fil-ardi wa la fis-sama'i, wa Huwas-Sami'ul-'Alim
Hadith:
'Uthman bin 'Affan (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "He who recites three times every morning and evening: 'Bismillahil-ladhi la yadurru ma'as-mihi shai'un fil-ardi wa la fis-sama'i, wa Huwas-Sami'ul-'Alim (In the Name of Allah with Whose Name there is protection against every kind of harm in the earth or in the heaven, and He is the All-Hearing and All- Knowing),' nothing will harm him."
[Abu Dawud and At- Tirmidhi].
3. From the Quran -- Al-fatihah, Ayatul Kursi, Al-Ikhlas, Al-Falaq, An-Naas
Allahumma salli 'ala Muhammad wa 'ala aalihi wa sahbihi wasallam.
And Allah knows best and is Most Wise, and He alone grants success, and to Him is the final return of all.

The Joy of Learning and Reading the Quran
In the Name of Allah, Most Merciful, Most Compassionate
Allah taught the Quran to the Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wasallam through Angel Jibril alayhissalaam. So learning and reading the Quran is our closest link to the Prophet sallallahu alayi wasallam.
The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam said, "He who does not recite the Quran in a pleasant tone is not of us." [Abu Dawood] This is a serious warning. But reciting in a pleasant tone is not enough if you have problems in makhaarij, problems in sifat or problems in other rules of recitation.
We should recite the Quran the way the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam recited it. Tajweed helps us to do it.
What is tajweed? It is to recite the Quran as per the point of articulation (makhaarij) and attributes (sifat) of letters and the rules of recitation. These rules occur in every line of the Quran. So, it is necessary to learn tajweed.
Problems in makhaarij: can result in the change of meaning.e.g. If you didn't pronounce the letter 'Ain properly and it sounded hamzah.
e.g. والله أليم (Allah is painful) instead of والله عليم (Allah is knowing)
Problems in sifat: e.g. If you didn't make the letter "lam" heavy in الله أكبر it is a problem
Problems in the rules: e.g.If you didn't elongate the madd. e.g. خلقنا (We created) becomes خلقن (those women created). This is a disaster.
We make mistakes in the recitation of the Quran because of improper learning, mother's tongue effects get carried over to Arabic or no exposure to tajweed. It is important we find a qualified teacher to teach us how to read the Quran in the way it was taught to our Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam and practice, practice, practice. Reading the Quran correctly will inspire a joy in your heart and make you closer to Allah inshaa Allah.
Some of the Benefits of the Quran
1. You will be from the best of the people if you learn and teach the Quran to others.
Uthman رضي الله عنه said that Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wasallam said: “The best of you are the ones who learn the Qur’an and teach it to others” [Al-Bukhari]
2. The reciters of the Qur’an will be in the company of the noble and obedient angels.
Aisha رضي الله عنها relates that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam said: “Verily the one who recites the Qur’an beautifully, smoothly, and precisely, he will be in the company of the noble and obedient angels. And as for the one who recites with difficulty, stammering or stumbling through its verses, then he will have twice that reward.” [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]
Do not let the shaytan make you lose hope, or plant the excuses in your mind such as “I am not an ‘Arab,” or “It's not my language.” This hadith is a firm proof against these whisperings.
Dedicate yourself to the Book of Allah whether you are an Arab or not. The excuses have been eliminated and the pathway has been cleared for you to embrace the Book of Allah without holding back or offering excuses.
3. Your position in Paradise is determined by the amount of Qur’an you memorize/read in this life.
‘Abdullaah ibn ‘Amr ibn Al-’Aas رضي الله عنه heard The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam saying: “It will be said to the companion of the Qur’an: Read and elevate (through the levels of the Paradise) and beautify your voice as you used to do when you were in the dunya. For verily, your position in the Paradise will be at the last verse you recite.” [Abu Dawud and At-Tirmidhi]
4. The Qur’an will lead you to Paradise
The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam said: “The Qur’an is an intercessor, something given permission to intercede, and it is rightfully believed in. Whoever puts it in front of him, it will lead him to Paradise; whoever puts it behind him, it will steer him to the Hellfire.” [At Tabarani]
May Allah make us His elect people of the Quran. Aameen.
Allahumma salli 'ala Muhammad wa 'ala aalihi wa sahbihi wasallam.
And Allah knows best and is Most Wise, and He alone grants success, and to Him is the final return of all.

Kuasa Adalah Ujian -- Power is a Test
Awed by the saying of Omra Al Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) "If a mule or a donkey should fall because the roads are not level, Omar will be questioned before God on the Day of Judgment as to why he did not repair the roads for these animals.” Omar as a powerful Caliph, was no less protective of the animals during his rule.
Everyone is given certain powers by God. Parents has control over their children. Husband has control over his wife. The employer has control over his employees. The teacher has power over his students. Leaders has power over their people. When we are given any power, it is a test -- Allah is testing us to see what we would do with our power. To exercise your power is to enslave yourself with the power you are given, not to enslave others with your power or being arrogant.
Allahumma salli 'ala Muhammad wa 'ala aalihi wa sahbihi wasallam.

Quran Reflection -- Secret to True Success
In the Name of Allah, Most Merciful, Most Compassionate
Everything that is happening around the Muslims is because we don't follow the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger sallallahu alayhi wasallam. We should fear our own sins more than anything else.
It is our own sin that hinder our own success. It is us, our application of Islam and our obedience to our Creator that can give us success and victory.
Avoid sins at all costs and constantly turn to Allah in repentance. Allah Most High says,
And turn to Allah in repentance, all of you, O believers, that you might succeed.
[Quran, An-Noor 25:31]
Indeed, Allah loves those who are constantly repentant and loves those who purify themselves."
[Quran, Al-Baqarah 2:222]
No sin is minor. A sin which is technically known as minor does not mean that people should go about indulging in it neglectfully, indolently or just ignore it as something ordinary. On the contrary, the fact is that a minor sin, if done with nerve or heedlessness, does not remain minor anymore - it becomes a major sin. A good example of a major and a minor sin, as given by some sage, is that of a small scorpion and a big scorpion, or that of a large ember and a tiny spark, for man cannot bear the pain given by any of these.
Sin is bad news for the one who does it. One of the reasons why many people sin, or care little about their sins is their failure to see the impact that sins can have on their lives in this world and in the Hereafter. Every single person (alive, dead and to be born) is also affected by your sin no matter how miniscule your sin might be. Reflect on what Allah says,
So whoever does an atom's weight of good will see it, (7) And whoever does an atom's weight of evil will see it. (8)
Remember that you and I are part of a society. When sins become rampant, we all suffer.
If we don’t understand the ghastly nature of sins, we wouldn’t stay away from them. That's why we need to seek knowledge.
Sa'ad ibn Waqqas, one of the ten promised Paradise was the commader in chief of the Muslim army, appointed by the Amirul Mukminin Omar al Khattab to confront the Persians at Qadisiyyah. This was his advice to him and the Muslim army.
"O Sa'd! There is no connection between Allah and any of His Servants except obedience to Him. In the sight of Allah, all people, whether common or noble, are the same. Allah is their Lord and they are His slaves, seeking elevation through taqwa (piety) and seeking to obtain what is good through obedience. Look at the way of Messenger of Allah, Allah bless him and grant him peace, from the time he was sent until he left us, and adhere to it, for it is the proper way. That is my advice to you, if you ignore it and turn away from it, you will be one of the losers. I am ordering you and the troops who are with you to fear Allah in all circumstances, as fear of Allah is the best weapon against the enemy, and the strongest weapon in war. I am commanding you and those who are with you to be more careful avoiding sin than avoiding your enemy. The Muslims are supported by their enemy's disobedience towards Allah. Were it not for that, we would not have any strength, as our numbers are not like theirs. If we were equally matched in sin, they would have an advantage over us in strength, and if we did not have an advantage over them by our virtue, we would not be able to defeat them by our strength."
It was victory for the 3000 Muslims who fought against the Persian's force of 120,000 men under the leadership of Rustum, one of their most brilliant commanders. The Muslims were outnumbered by 40 to 1.
May Allah forgive all our sins and make us of the constantly repentant. Aameen.
Allahumma salli 'ala Muhammad wa 'ala aalihi wa sahbihi wasallam.
And Allah knows best and is Most Wise, and He alone grants success, and to Him is the final return of all.

Quran Reflection -- Don't Give Up, Don't Despair
In the Name of Allah, Most Merciful, Most Compassionate
Every single tragedy has within it more blessings than the tragedy itself as long as we have trust in Allah. This is the attitude of a believer.
So don't give up, don't despair. Out of tragedies come great blessings. With hardship there is ease.
For indeed, with hardship [will be] ease. (5) Indeed, with hardship [will be] ease. (6) So when you have finished [your duties], then stand up [for worship]. (7) And to your Lord direct [your] longing. (8)
May Allah grant us beautiful patience and save us from the trials and tribulations of this life and the next. Aameen.
Allahumma salli 'ala Muhammad wa 'ala aalihi wa sahbihi wasallam.
And Allah knows best and is Most Wise, and He alone grants success, and to Him is the final return of all.
