Don't Fall Back After Ramadhan

In the Name of Allah, Most Merciful, Most Compassionate
Assalaamu alaykum

Dear Friends

I pray that you are well.

We have left behind us our noble guest, Ramadhan, the month of mercy, forgiveness and freedom from the hellfire, but we have challenged our nafs (lower self) and our desires in Ramadhan and we made progress. The progress came from our internal commitment, special prayers, fasting, charity and avoiding sins. We must continue that progress and don't fall back.

Taraweeh prayer can become Tahajjud prayer (Qiyam Al-Layl). Allah Almighty said to the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wassallam,

O you who wraps himself [in clothing], (1) Arise [to pray] the night, except for a little - (2) Half of it - or subtract from it a little (3) Or add to it, and recite the Qur'an with measured recitation. (4)
[Quran, Al-Muzzammil, 73:1-4]

It is reported that the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wassallam said:
Allah, Our Lord, descends (in a manner befitting His Majesty) to the nearest heaven to us of this universe during the last third of the night and says: ‘Is there anyone to call upon Me so that I shall respond to him (fulfill his prayer). Is there anyone to ask of Me that I may grant his request. Is there anyone to seek My forgiveness so that I shall pardon him (and forgive his sins)’.
[Bukhari & Muslim]

Abu Hurayra (may Allah be pleased with him) reported Allah’s Messenger sallallahu alayhi wassallam said:
The most excellent fast after Ramadhan is God’s month, al-Muharram, and the most excellent prayer after what is prescribed is prayer during the night.
[Bukhari]

Fasting may continue with sunnah fasting. Allah has spread other blessed times throughout the year for fasting. It is a shield from falling into sin and giving in to our own nafs. Abu Hurayra reported, Allah’s Messenger sallallahu alayhi wassallam said, “Fasting is a shield.” [Muslim] Also, remember the tremendous rewards of fasting. Allah Almighty said: The Fast is for Me and I will give the reward for it. [Bukhari & Muslim]

Our first opportunity for Sunnah fasting is fasting 6 days in Shawwal, the month following Ramadhan.

The Prophet, Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: Whoever fasts Ramadhan and follows it up with six from Shawwal, it is as though he has fasted all of time, because each day is equivalent to ten days. Whoever performs a good deed, he will have ten like it.

The next opportunity for Sunnah fasting are fasting on the white (nights) in every other month (i.e. 13th, 14th, 15th of each month).

Narrated Qatadah Ibn Malhan al-Qaysi: The Messenger of Allah ((Allah bless him and grant him peace) used to command us to fast the days of the white (nights): thirteenth, fourteenth and fifteenth of the month. He said: “This is like keeping perpetual fast.” (Abudawud)

Other opportunities for Sunnah fasting:

1) Fasting on Mondays and Thursdays.

Abu Hurayra reported Allah’s Messenger (Allah bless him and grant him peace) as saying the deeds of people would be presented every week on two days, i.e. Monday and Thursday. (Muslim) Abu Hurayra also reported Allah’s Messenger (Allah bless him and grant him peace) as saying: The gates of Paradise are not opened but on two days, Monday and Thursday. (Muslim) Relative to the first, the Prophet Muhammad (Allah bless him and grant him peace) is reported to have acknowledged fasting on these two days “because I want my deeds to be presented while I am fasting.” (Muslim)

The Prophet Muhammad was asked about fasting on Monday. He said: “It was the day on which I was born, and on which revelation was sent to me.” (Muslim)

2) Fasting on the first 9 days of Dhulhijjah

About the first 10 days of Dhulhijjah, the Prophet, Allah bless him and grant him peace, said,

"There are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days." The people asked, "Not even Jihad for the sake of Allah?" He, Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "Not even Jihad for the sake of Allah, except in the case of a man who went out to fight giving himself and his wealth up for the cause, and came back with nothing (Bukhari).

Fasting on the day of ‘Arafah (9th Dhulhijjah).

Abu Qatada (Allah be pleased with him) related that the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and grant him peace) said, “Fasting the Day of `Arafah expiates for two years, one prior and one forthcoming.” [Reported by Muslim, Abu Dawud, Nasa’i, and Ibn Majah]

3) Fasting in the month of Muharram

Abu Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with him, reported that the Messenger of Allah, Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: "The best fasting after Ramadhan is fasting Allah's month of Muharram." [Muslim]

Day of 'Ashura' (i.e. 10th Muharram)

The Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and grant him peace) taught us to commemorate this day, primarily by fasting. He informed us that if we do so Allah wipes out the sins of the previous year. [Muslim]

The day of Ashura had special significance before fasting during Ramadan was commanded. Narrated Ibn ‘Abbas: When the Prophet came to Medina, he found (the Jews) fasting on the day of ‘Ashura'. They used to say: “This is a great day on which Allah saved Moses and drowned the folk of Pharaoh. Moses observed the fast on this day, as a sign of gratitude to Allah.” The Prophet, Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, “I am closer to Moses than they.” So, he observed the fast (on that day) and ordered the Muslims to fast on it. [Bukhari] When Ramadan was commanded, the Prophet (Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: “He who wishes to observe this fast may do so, and he who wishes to abandon it may do so.” (Muslim)

4) Sha'ban fasting

The Prophet ﷺ used to fast most of the month in Sha'ban. Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, said, "Prophet Muhammad ﷺ used to fast the whole of Sha'ban. I said to him, 'Messenger of Allah, is Sha'ban your most favorite month for fasting?' He said, 'In this month Allah prescribes the list of the persons dying this year. Therefore, I like that my death comes when I am in a state of fasting."

Umm Salamah, may Allah be pleased with her, said: "I have never seen the Messenger of Allah fasting for two months continuously except in the months of Sha'ban and Ramadhan."

Fast regularly throughout the year and that will keep you in training and make you a better slave of Allah, inshaAllah. Besides, fasting has many physical, moral and social benefits.

Continue giving charity everyday even with a smile.

Remember, adding supererogatory works to obligatory works is a recipe to gain Allah's love. On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (Allah be pleased with him), who said that the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه و سلم said: Allah (mighty and sublime be He) said:
Whosoever shows enmity to someone devoted to Me, I shall be at war with him. My servant draws not near to Me with anything more loved by Me than the religious duties I have enjoined upon him, and My servant continues to draw near to Me with supererogatory works so that I shall love him. When I love him I am his hearing with which he hears, his seeing with which he sees, his hand with which he strikes and his foot with which he walks. Were he to ask [something] of Me, I would surely give it to him, and were he to ask Me for refuge, I would surely grant him it. I do not hesitate about anything as much as I hesitate about [seizing] the soul of My faithful servant: he hates death and I hate hurting him.
(Bukhari)

May Allah grant us tawfiq and accept our Ramadhan worship and any good deeds. Ameen.

Please don't forget us in your night prayers. Jazakallahu khairan.

And Allah knows best.

Bidding Farewell to Ramadhan and What's Next?

In the Name of Allah, Most Merciful, Most Compassionate
Assalaamu alaykum

Dear Friends

I pray that you are well.

Eid Mubarak to you, your family and your loved ones.

It feels like yesterday we were celebrating the first day of Ramadhan and now it is over. Whether you love Ramadhan so much and want it to stay; whether you fell short in Ramadhan and want it to stay so you can do more, Ramadhan got to go. You cannot stop Ramadhan from leaving. It was only here for a limited number of days -- 29 or 30. And you have to wait till next year to see Ramadhan again, that if Allah had decreed that you live long enough.

Allah Almighty says,

O you who have believed, decreed upon you is fasting as it was decreed upon those before you that you may become righteous - (183) [Fasting for] a limited number of days. ...
[Qur'an, Al-Baqarah 2:183-184]

The very purpose of fasting is so we may become people of taqwa (righteousness, piety, God-fearingness). It is meant to transform us into a better human being, a slave of Allah. Have we accomplished this purpose even a little?

The Prophet, Allah bless him and grant him peace, said Ameen to Angel Jibril's du'a, 'Destruction to him who found the blessed month of Ramadhan and let it pass by without gaining forgiveness.'

Abu Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with him, reported that the Prophet, Allah bless him and grant him peace, said,
Ramadhan, a blessed month, has come to you during which Allah the Most High has made it obligatory for you to fast. In it the doors of Heaven are opened, the doors of Hell are closed, and the rebellious shaytan are chained. In it there is a night (worshipping in it) which is better than (worshipping for) a thousand months. Whoever is deprived of its good (and blessing) has indeed been deprived of all good.
[Nasa’i]

People who have lost out in Ramadhan were those who had busied themselves with things that did not concern them -- those things that they cannot take with them to their graves, i.e. things that cannot help them succeed in the Hereafter. Our concern in this life should be Allah alone, our standing with Him, and our next life to come. And this is the concern that we should have from now and until we breath our last.

Ramadhan was our training ground. Don't let that training go to waste.

You stood many hours for Taraweeh and qiyamu lail in Ramadhan, and that was a good month long practice indeed. So you should not have much problem doing extra prayers and waking up for tahajjud every night from now on.

You recited and listened to a lot of Qur'an in Ramadhan. Don't stop doing this. Recite the Qur'an regularly and listen attentively to Qur'an everyday. It is recommended to complete reciting the entire Qur'an at least every 30 or 40 days. If you haven't studied the Qur'an with a qualified teacher, you should plan to do so as soon as possible. Reciting Qur'an the correct way is the way of the Prophet, Allah bless him and grant him peace. It is incumbent upon every Muslim to learn how to recite the Qur'an properly in order to recite the verses correctly, especially during prayer. It is also important that we memorize the Qur'an and understand the meanings. Imagine the connection you would have with the Qur'an by next taraweeh if you do this -- when the imam and a few of the people in congregation are crying while the Qur'an was being recited during prayers, we won't be just listening to the crying anymore. You have to learn Arabic.

You had self restraint in Ramadhan. You held yourself from food and drink during the day and you eat little at night because your stomach has shrunk. Don't expand it by eating beyond your fill during this Eid celebration and forward. Some of you quit smoking in Ramadhan. Alhamdulillah. You have more patience in Ramadhan. Don't let your nafs take you back to your bad old habits before Ramadhan and avoid the unlawful.

You were very generous and charitable, not just with your money but also with your heart. You gave sadaqatul fitr, zakat and extra charity, and you forgave a lot of people. Continue to give charity all throughout the year and before you go to sleep, forgive those who have wronged you and ask Allah for their forgiveness.

You made a lot of du'as in Ramadhan. Continue making those du'as and ask Allah to forgive the Muslims in your prayers. Allah loves your asking Him.

It is Sunnah of the Prophet, Allah bless him and grant him peace, to fast 6 days in Shawwal, Mondays, Thursdays, three white days of each lunar month, the day of Arafah, the first 10 days of Zulhijjah, Ashura, and most of Sha'ban and Muharram. People who maintain the sunnah fasting throughout the year would have found this year's Ramadhan quite easy despite the long hours.

Fast regularly throughout the year and that will keep you in training, starting with fasting the 6 days Shawwal fasting (beginning 2nd day of Eid). Yes, all those Eid food and many Eid open houses and invitations sound like it is going to be difficult to fast when everyone is celebrating, but try it. Allah will make it easy for you. You can always accept evening invitations.

The Prophet, صلى الله عليه و سلم, said: "Whoever fasts the month of Ramadan and he follows it with six days of Shawwal, it is as if he has fasted the whole year."

The Prophet, صلى الله عليه و سلم, said: "Whoever fasts Ramadhan and follows it up with six from Shawwal, it is as though he has fasted all of time, because each day is equivalent to ten days. Whoever performs a good deed, he will have ten like it."

The Prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم said: "The most beloved action to Allah is that which is most consistent."

We don't limit our fasting and certain acts of good deed in Ramadhan only. If we are consistent with our fasting and doing other good deed, not only this is a sign of the acceptance of one’s Ramadan fasts and good deed because a sign of Allah’s acceptance of a good deed is to be granted the success to perform similar good deeds, with consistency, this is a sign of one's commitment to continue in worship and submission to Allah, willingly, and not merely out of duty and obligation.

The recipe to gain Allah's love is to perform the obligatory religious duties and add supererogatory works.

On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (Allah be pleased with him), who said that the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه و سلم said: Allah (mighty and sublime be He) said: "Whosoever shows enmity to someone devoted to Me, I shall be at war with him. I do not hesitate about anything as much as I hesitate about [seizing] the soul of My faithful servant: he hates death and I hate hurting him."
[Bukhari]

Good deeds raise one's rank and erase the person's sins (except major sins which require sincere repentance for forgiveness).

One of the signs of the righteous is patience and restraint. If we fasted correctly, then we would have benefited from one of the effects of Ramadhan--an increase in patience. One can never have too much patience. Lack of patience can cause lots of problems--to oneself as well as to others. Patience is an acquired trait which many people don't have or many lose it very easily. If you have patience, nothing befalls you disturbs or bothers you. You will go through challenges, difficulties, uneasiness and discomfort in stride. The pious and the righteous people, who are not free from trials and tribulations of this life, are the happiest people because they have patience and restraint.

You made much remembrance of Allah (dhikr) in Ramadhan. Keep that up. If you did not, strive to do that.

On the authority of Abu Hurayrah, Allah be pleased with him, who said that the Prophet, صلى الله عليه و سلم, said: Allah the Almighty said: "I am as My servant thinks I am. I am with him when he makes mention of Me. If he makes mention of Me to himself, I make mention of him to Myself; and if he makes mention of Me in an assembly, I make mention of him in an assembly better than it. And if he draws near to Me an arm's length, I draw near to him a fathom's length. And if he comes to Me walking, I go to him at speed."

May Allah grant us forgiveness and acceptance of our fasting, prayers, charity, du'a and any good deeds in Ramadhan, make us of those decreed salvation from Hellfire and grant us the keys to Paradise. Ameen.

Please don't forget us in your night prayers. Jazakallahu khairan.

And Allah knows best.

Shortcut to Paradise -- Moist Your Tongue With The Remembrance of Allah (Dhikr)

In the Name of Allah, Most Merciful, Most Compassionate
Assalaamu alaykum

Dear Friends

I pray that you are well.

Sometimes there are just too many things going on in our lives at once that could easily make us feel unrest. Some people try to numb it with entertainment, alcohol or other things that may distract themselves from that feeling, but again it returns.

Here's the true remedy -- Let not your tongue cease to be moist with the remembrance of Allah (dhikr).

Allah Almighty says,

Those who have believed and whose hearts are assured by the remembrance of Allah. Unquestionably, by the remembrance of Allah hearts are assured." (28)
[Qur’an, Al-R'ad 13:28]

There are many Qur'an verses and traditions of the Prophet, Allah bless him and grant him peace, that show us the extreme importance of dhikr in our lives.

O you who have believed, remember Allah with much remembrance (41) And exalt Him morning and afternoon. (42)
[Qur'an, Al-Ahzab 33:41-42]

A bedouin man came to the Prophet, Allah bless him and grant him peace, who felt that the rules had become too much for him. He felt a burden on his shoulders, unsure if he was to be able to fulfill his roles and obligations to his Lord. He came with a concern to the Prophet, Allah bless him and grant him peace, and asked: “O Messenger of Allah, the laws of Islam have become many for us, so give us a means of access which is comprehensive to which we can cling.” The Prophet, Allah bless him and grant peace, responded? “لا يزال لسانك رطبا بذكر الله -- Let not your tongue cease to be moist with the remembrance of Allah, The Glorious, The Magnificent."

The Prophet, Allah bless him and grant him peace, also said: “The example of the one who remembers his Lord in comparison with the one who does not remember his Lord is that of the living and the dead.” [Bukhari & Muslim]

So don't let your time pass with no remembrance of Allah. When we have dhikr always on our tongues, we have this constant connection with our Creator, even as we go about our daily routines. When things are going well, or when things are hard, we have this lifeline to Allah, this constant stream of praise going up, and blessings coming down. Our spirits are lighter, our hearts happier. We are grateful for everything we have, because we remember that every single little blessing – good health, the comfortable beds we sleep in, the orange juice we had for breakfast, even our beating hearts and the breath in our lungs – comes from Allah.

Dhikr is of many types and it is a guide to excellent character, and a light that keeps us on the path to Paradise. It is light on the tongue but heavy on the Scale in the Day of Judgment.

The Prophet, Allah bless him and grant him peace, tells us about the regrets of the people of Paradise. He says “The People of Paradise will not regret except one thing alone: the hour that passed them by and in which they made no remembrance of Allah.”

So what are we waiting for? Aren't we not still alive?

May Allah enable us to remember Him with much remembrance throughout our lives and grant us the highest Paradise, Jannatul Firdaus. Ameen.

Please don't forget us in your night prayers. Jazakallahu khairan.

And Allah knows best.

Shortcut To Paradise -- Take Care of Your Mother

In the Name of Allah, Most Merciful, Most Compassionate
Assalaamu alaykum

Dear Friends

I pray that you are well.

If you have a mother, she is your shortcut to Paradise. So, go take care of her.

Uwais Al-Qarni, who lived during the Prophet's time (Allah bless him and grant him peace), was the only man who was mentioned by name by the Prophet (Allah bless him and grant him peace) without him having met the Prophet (Allah bless him and grant him peace). He will come among the people on the Day of Judgment and as they are entering Paradise, he will be stopped. When he asks why, Allah will tell him he can bring whomever he wants into Paradise with him, as much as 200,000 people (the amount of two large tribes). Even a martyr will only get to take 70,000 to Paradise, by Allah's permission. In his life, Allah gave Uwais the honor of his supplication being answered as it was reported that the Prophet (Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: “Ali and Umar, if you are ever to find this man, ask him to make du'a for you and ask Allah for your forgiveness.”

What did Uwais do that was so great? He took care of his mother and sacrificed not seeing the beloved Prophet (Allah bless him and grant him peace).

Allah Almighty has repeatedly emphasized the right of parents in general and the mother in particular. Allah, the Exalted, states in the Qur'an:

And your Lord has decreed that you not worship except Him, and to parents, good treatment. Whether one or both of them reach old age [while] with you, say not to them [so much as], "uff," and do not repel them but speak to them a noble word. (23) [Qur'an, Al-Isra' 17:23]

In this verse the right of Allah to be worshiped is placed adjacent to the right of parents, and all scholars agree that the rights of parents in Islam are greater and placed before all others except Allah. Obedience to parents must be given priority over all others including the wife. This does not mean that the wife is to be humiliated or insulted in any matter, but only that parents should be given priority in obedience over all others on the condition that they do not disobey Allah, the Exalted, and His Prophet (Allah bless him and grant him peace).

Allah's pleasure or displeasure with man is but an indication of the pleasure of the parents with their son or daughter, as the Prophet (Allah bless him and grant him peace) indicated when he said:

"Allah's pleasure with man is through the pleasure of the parents and His displeasure is through the displeasure of the parents." [Ibn Hibban & Tabrani]

"Birr ul-Walidain"بِٱلْوَٰلِدَيْنِ means being obedient, good and kind to them, pleasing them and taking care of their needs, especially in old age. Serving them is considered obligatory service and preferred over participating in the various acts of volunteer service like in some form of Jihad (i.e., striving in the cause of Allah).

A man came to ask permission to go for Jihad and the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and grant him peace) asked if his parents were alive to which he replied in the affirmative. Then he said to the man:

"So strive for them and exert yourself (jaahid)." [Bukhari & Muslim]

Mu'awiyyah as-Sulami said to the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and grant him peace):
'I want to go for Jihad in the way of Allah.'
The Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and grant him peace) asked: "Is your mother alive?"
He said: 'Yes.'
He said: "Stay with her, for Jannah is under her feet." [Ahmad & Nasa'i]

This idiomatic expression shows the degree of deference, respect and obedience that the children should show to their mother to earn her pleasure by continuous care and service, which leads to attaining the pleasure of Allah and His Paradise, the promised reward for all rightly guided and devout believers. Mothers have greater right and deserve more kindness, help service, good treatment and companionship than the fathers because the mother is the first one to care for the children and she suffers more directly with daily hardships in their upbringing. Bukhari and others report that Abu-Hurairah (may Allah exalt their mention) narrated:

"A man came to the Prophet (Peace be upon Him) and asked him: 'O Prophet of Allah! Who is the most deserving and worthy of my good company?'
Allah's Prophet (Peace be upon Him) answered: "Your mother."
The man asked: 'Who comes next after her?'
He said: "Your mother."
The man asked again: 'Who comes next after her?'
He said: "Your mother."
The man asked again: 'Who comes next after her?'
He said: "Your father."

[Bukhari & Muslim]

This comprehensive lesson is a summary proving that the mothers deserve the utmost in obedience, benevolence and concern throughout their lives.

This tradition indicates that a mother has three times the rights of that of a father due to the sufferings she experiences during the various stages of her child's life; in pregnancy, delivery, nursing, and raising the child. Allah, the Exalted, states in the Glorious Qur'an:
وَوَصَّيْنَا ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ بِوَٰلِدَيْهِ حَمَلَتْهُ أُمُّهُۥ وَهْنًا عَلَىٰ وَهْنٍ وَفِصَـٰلُهُۥ فِى عَامَيْنِ أَنِ ٱشْكُرْ لِى وَلِوَٰلِدَيْكَ إِلَىَّ ٱلْمَصِيرُ ﴿١٤

And We have enjoined upon man [care] for his parents. His mother carried him, [increasing her] in weakness upon weakness, and his weaning is in two years. Be grateful to Me and to your parents; to Me is the [final] destination. (14)[
[Qur'an, Luqman 31:14]

Mothers are given priority over fathers in terms of special kindness, care, duty, help, and obedience. Both parents, in accordance with Islamic teachings and principles, are to be obeyed, respected and not differed with as long as they do not command or order their children to disobey their Creator. If they order their children to perform an act of disobedience to Allah then they are to be disobeyed in that particular matter only and a son or daughter must continue to fulfill their normal duties towards parents in other matters. They are expected to serve them, help them in their worldly affairs, and come to their rescue when they need them. Allah, the Exalted, states in the Glorious Qur'an:

But if they endeavor to make you associate with Me that of which you have no knowledge, do not obey them but accompany them in [this] world with appropriate kindness and follow the way of those who turn back to Me [in repentance]. Then to Me will be your return, and I will inform you about what you used to do. (15)
[Qur'an, Luqman 31:15]

Parents must be respected, obeyed and offered financial assistance by their children, even if they have a different religion or faith, other than Islam, as long as they do not demand that their son or daughter do any act of disobedience to Allah. Asma binte Abu-Bakr (may Allah be pleased with her) said:

My mother, who was still a pagan, came to visit. I went to the Messenger of Allah (Peace be upon Him) seeking his verdict. I said, "She has come to visit and she is interested in Islam, should I maintain my relationship with her?"
The Messenger of Allah (Peace be upon Him) said: "Yes, indeed, stay connected to your mother."

[Bukhari & Muslim]

Disobeying Parents

Disobeying parents, disrespecting them and failing to fulfill their rights is the greatest of sins. The punishment from Allah of this sin is not only in the hereafter but in this life as well, as it is narrated that the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and grant him peace) said:

"Two (kinds of sins) Allah will forward (the punishment of) in this world: violent transgression and disobedience of children to their parents." [Tirmidhi & Ibn Majah]

The Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and grant him peace) also said:

"Verily, Allah has forbidden you to disobey your mothers, to prevent people from their rights, to ask people for what you are not entitled, to bury your baby-girls alive. He detests for you to gossip, to ask too many questions, or to waste your wealth." [Bukhari]

Islam's encouragement to sons and daughters to treat their mothers with kindness, obedience and care - and to beckon to give any possible assistance to their parents in their various daily household chores - is illustrated in the following lengthy tradition wherein Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (Allah bless him and grant him peace) said:

"Only three infants spoke while still in the cradle.

The first was Isa (peace be upon him), son of Maryam (may Allah be pleased with her).

O sister of Haroon (Aaron), your father was not a man of evil, nor was your mother unchaste." (28) So she pointed to him. They said, "How can we speak to one who is in the cradle a child?" (29) [Isa] said, "Indeed, I am the servant of Allah. He has given me the Scripture and made me a prophet. (30) And He has made me blessed wherever I am and has enjoined upon me prayer and zakah as long as I remain alive (31) And [made me] dutiful to my mother, and He has not made me a wretched tyrant. (32) And peace is on me the day I was born and the day I will die and the day I am raised alive." (33) That is Isa, the son of Maryam - the word of truth about which they are in dispute. (34)
[Qur'an, Maryam 19:28-34]

The second was Juraij, a great worshipper from Bani Israel who used to seclude himself in a chamber and devote his time to prayer and the worship of Allah. One day Juraij's mother asked for his help while he was engaged with his prayers. He said: 'O Allah! I am confused as to whom should I give priority; my prayers to you or my mother.'

He continued his prayers, and neglected his mother's request for help; upon this Juraij's mother left. On the following morning the mother did the same, and Juraij also continued his prayers and neglected his mother's call for help. On the following day, Juraij's mother came again to him and called him to help her, as she had done in the past two days. Juraij did not respond. Upon seeing that, the mother said: 'O Allah! Have Juraij look at the faces of prostitutes before he dies.'

At the time the people used to highly admire the amount and manner of Juraij's worship, prayers and seclusion to which he devoted himself. A very beautiful and attractive prostitute that was popular among the people proposed to the people: 'If you wish, I can tempt Juraij and cause him to have illegal sexual relations with me.' The prostitute set out to execute her plan, trying her best to lure Juraij into illegal sex with her, but her efforts were a failure. She then approached a shepherd who used to graze his flock close to Juraij's chamber and offered herself to the shepherd who showed no hesitation. The prostitute became pregnant and upon delivery accused Juraij of being the father of the child. The people went to Juraij in his chamber, drove him out, destroyed the chamber and started beating him.

He asked: "What is the matter? Why are you beating me?"
They said: "You have fornicated with this prostitute and she delivered a baby from you, while you pretended to be a pious man."
Juraij said: "Would you bring the baby here and let me offer my prayers to prove to you that I am not the father of that child.
The people permitted Juraij to offer his prayers, and they brought the baby. When Juraij finished his prayers, he went to the baby and pointed to his belly with his hand asking: "Who is your real father?"

The baby still in the cradle, said:"My father is the shepherd."
Upon hearing the baby's statement and confession, the people started kissing Juraij, seeking his blessings and said:"Should we reconstruct a chamber out of gold for you?"
He said: "No. But just rebuild it of clay and mud as it was built before." And so they did.

The third baby who spoke in the cradle was an infant who was nursing at his mother's breast when a knight wearing fancy clothes passed by on a beautiful horse. The nursing mother said: 'O Allah! In the future let my son be like this knight.'
Upon hearing this supplication the nursing infant left his mother's breast and said, while looking at the knight himself: 'O Allah! In the future do not make me like this knight'. Then the infant went back to sucking.

The narrator of the Hadith, Abu Hurayrah, said: I can remember the Prophet (Allah bless him and grant him peace) imitating the infant's nursing his mother's breast by placing his index finger in his mouth and sucking it.'

Then the mother and her nursing infant passed by a maid who was being beaten by her master and others accusing her with fornication and theft. The maid continued to say: 'Allah suffices me and He is My Guardian!'

The mother said: 'O Allah! Do not let my child be like this woman in the future.'

Upon hearing his mother's statement, the infant left his mother's breast and said: 'O Allah! In the future let me be like this woman!'

The mother, upon hearing her infant's statement, addressed him saying: 'Son! What is the matter with you? A nicely dressed knight passed by on a very nice horse, with a high status and power and I wished that you would be like him in the future; but you refused to be like him. Then when we passed by that maid who was beaten and disciplined for an accusation of fornication and theft, and I prayed to Allah for you not to be tortured and accused like her, you also rejected my supplication.'

The infant said: 'O Mother, as for the knight, he was a tyrant and thus I asked Allah not to make me like him. As for the beaten and accused maid, she had neither fornicated nor stolen. Thus I asked Allah to make me innocent and pure like her!" [Bukhari]

Expiation of Sins

Islam teaches that seeking the pleasure of the parents, and being good, kind, helpful, considerate to them, respecting and caring for them throughout their life, is a major way to expiate and remove the burden of our sins in this world. Abdullah Ibn Umar (may Allah exalt their mention) said:

"A man came to Allah's Prophet (Allah bless him and grant him peace) and said: 'O Prophet! I have committed a major sin. Do you think that I can atone for it?'
He asked: "Do you have a mother living?"
The man answered in the negative.
The Prophet (Allah bless him and grant him peace) asked the man: "Do you have a maternal aunt living?"
The man answered in the positive. Allah's Prophet (Allah bless him and grant him peace) said to him: "Be good and kind to her."

[Tirmidhi & Ibn Hibban]

This tradition indicates her right since the maternal aunt, in Islamic jurisprudence, has a similar status in some respects as of the mother, since the Prophet of Allah (Allah bless him and grant him peace) said:

"The sister of the mother has a status similar to the mother." [Bukhari]

Supplication Is Answered

The Prophet (Allah bless him and grant him peace) illustrated that being good and kind to parents is essential in the fulfillment of the supplications and prayers of man throughout his life, as Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) reported the Prophet (Allah bless him and grant him peace) as saying in a lengthy tradition:

"Three men of the previous times set out on a journey. When night approached they slept in a cave at the base of a mountain. Upon entering the cave, a boulder rolled down and completely closed the cave's entrance. They talked the situation over and concluded that there was no way out of this trouble except with prayers and supplications. 'We had better seek the help of Allah referring to the best and most righteous deed that we have done in our lives.'

The first man said: 'O Allah! I had two elderly parents and I never would offer my wife and children anything to eat or drink before I offered them. One day I had to go a long distance seeking food for my herd and I was late coming back. Upon arrival I found both of my parents asleep. I milked the sheep in order to offer my parents their dinner, but since I hated to wake them up for their drink, I remained standing next to them carrying the milk pot in my hand waiting for them to wake up. I did not offer my wife or children anything before I offered them. At the break of the Dawn, they woke up and by this time my children were at my feet crying for milk. When they woke up, I offered them their milk. O Allah! If you know that I have done that for Your sake, please rescue us from this trap.'
Upon that the rock was moved slightly away from the cave's entrance, but not enough to let them out.

The second man said: 'O Allah! I had a female cousin from my father's side who was the most beloved woman to me on the face of the Earth. I had an intense desire for her, but she refused. At one point in time she came under financial stress due to famine. She came to me asking for help. I offered her a hundred and twenty golden Dinars so that she would let me have what I wanted from her. Under the duress of her pressing need and financial situation she agreed. When I was ready to begin relations with her, she said, 'O Cousin! Fear Allah! And do not remove the seal of virginity except in the rightful manner.' Upon hearing that, I got up and did not touch her, although she was the most beloved and desired woman to me. I did not take back the gold, which I gave her.' Then he raised his hands to the heavens and said: 'O Allah! If You know I have done, what I did, for Your cause and pleasure, please remove the trap that we are in. Remove the rock from the cave's entrance so that we can get out!'
Upon which, the rock moved another small distance but still not enough to enable them to escape.

The third man said: 'O Allah! You know that I once employed some workers and at the end of the day I paid their wages except to the one who had left without collecting his pay. I invested his wages in my business and kept a special note and account for it. The money that belonged to this worker grew during the years, and after many years the worker came to me asking for the wage that he did not take on that day of his work. I pointed out to him large herds of sheep, cows, camels, and slaves and servants, and said to him: 'All that you see is yours! That is the wage that I owe you!' The poor worker was stunned and said: 'Please do not ridicule and make fun of me! I am only asking for my one-day wage. The employer said: 'I am neither ridiculing you nor making fun of you. This is all yours.' The worker took all that I pointed out for him and left.' Then the man raised his hands to heavens and said: 'O Allah! If I have done what I did for Your cause and pleasure, remove the trap from which we are suffering.'
Upon that the rock rolled away from the cave's entrance and the three men left the cave, free once again."

[Bukhari]

May Allah guide our children and make them obedient to their Lord and to His Messenger (Allah bless him and grant him peace). Ameen.

Story of Uwais Al-Qarni -- Value of a Mother

Assalaamu alaykum

Dear Friends

I pray that you are well.

One day, Umar ibn Khattab, Abu Bakr, Ali and other companions (may Allah be pleased with them) were sitting with the Prophet ﷺ at the mosque when the Prophet ﷺ said to them, “Tomorrow, a man will enter from this door to pray among you and he will be from the people of Paradise.”

Abu Hurayra relates that the next day he hurried to Fajr prayer at the Mosque and lined up in the first row in hopes that he would be the man that the Prophet ﷺ was referring to the day before. There were many other Companions standing alongside him who also had the same idea. The Prophet ﷺ conducted Fajr prayer and sat down. The Companions were eager to know who this man of Paradise was, but it didn’t seem the Prophet ﷺ was going to mention it. So they sat and waited for a while and some of them had to go, but others still waited. These included Abu Hurayra, Abu Bakr, Ali, and Umar.

Just then walked in a man, who was so poor his clothes were dirty and torn. The Prophet ﷺ immediately stood up and smiled from ear to ear and welcomed the man. The man asked the Prophet ﷺ to pray for him. The Prophet ﷺ raised his hands in duaa and said, “Oh Allah please grant this man a position in the highest levels of Paradise, Al Firdaus, with me.” So then when the man left, Abu Hurayra asked the Prophet ﷺ,”Was that him?!” “Yes,” replied the Prophet ﷺ.
“But oh Messenger of Allah, he is nothing more than a poor slave, how can that be him?” asked Abu Hurayra. “Oh Abu Hurayra,” said the Prophet ﷺ. “What can I do for him if his fate in this world is to be poor? His position on the Day of Judgment is that of a king. Abu Hurayra, the ones that have the most value to Allah are those that are pure, starving, whose faces are dusty, who are not known on this Earth, but known in the skies. If they want to get married, no one would marry them. And if they get sick, the do not pass on the sickness to anyone (they are alone), and if they attend something their presence is not felt, and if they leave, no one notices, and when they die, no one attends their funeral. These people however, are not forgotten by Allah and they are held with so much value.”
“Oh Messenger of Allah, show me one of them,” said Abu Hurayra.
“I will tell you about Uwais Al Qarni,” replied the Prophet ﷺ. The Companions looked at each other, each trying to recall if they know a man named Uwais. They didn’t know that he was talking about a man that they will meet years after the Prophet ﷺ has passed away.

“He is a man of medium height, head held high despite being poor with very dark skin. I can see him putting his right arm on his left arm and weeping as he reads Quran. He is wearing a cloak of poor wool,” said the Prophet ﷺ, smiling as if he can see him as Angel Gabriel is describing him. “On his left shoulder, there is a white mark the size of a dirham that is the effect of an illness. He is unknown among the people but known in the skies. His biggest sign is the mother he deeply cares for. When he makes duaa, it is granted. He will come among the people on the Day of Judgment and as they are entering Paradise, he will be stopped. When he asks why, Allah will tell him he can bring whomever he wants into Paradise with him, as much as 200,000 people (the amount of two large tribes).”

“Ali and Umar, if you are ever to find this man, ask him to ask Allah for your forgiveness,” said the Prophet ﷺ.

Elsewhere in Yemen, a young boy is herding his sheep, the sun beating down on his shoulders where a white mark stands alone on his dark skin. He is frustrated from being poor and having to struggle and take care of his mother. His father died when he was a young child, leaving him the man of the house. When the boy was seventeen, his mother lost her vision, and his responsibilities toward her increased as he now had to help her move around.

One night, he was carrying a candle and helping his mother move around the house when the candlelight went out and they were left in darkness. He could not see a thing. Then his mother, who was used to finding her way in the darkness, started leading him. This turn of events affected him deeply and he started to ponder on the weight of light and darkness.

The next day, the seventeen-year-old Uwais bumped into a Muslim man who was coming to Yemen to spread Islam. He stopped the man and asked him to tell him something from the Quran that his Prophet ﷺ has said. So the man recites a verse from Surah Al Nur:
{…And he for whom Allah has not appointed light, for him there is no light} (Qur'an 24:40)

This really hit home for Uwais as he remembered what had happened the night before with his mother. “Tell me more about what your Prophet ﷺ says,” said Uwais.

So the man, noticing that Uwais was poor, chose this Hadith. “What am I to this world and what is this world to me? The example of me and this world is that of a man who walks in the heat of the desert and sits under the shade of a tree for an hour, then walks away and leaves it.”

Uwais upon hearing this Hadith, immediately said his shahadah and became a Muslim at the age of 17. Then came the question, will he migrate to see the Prophet ﷺ? As much as Uwais wanted to, he couldn’t and wouldn’t leave his mother. Some people suggested that he let some neighbors take care of her while he was gone but he said that he was the one who should take care of her and turned down the opportunity to see the Prophet ﷺ. This sacrifice for his mother and the way Uwais had devoted himself to his mother his whole life was the reason that he was mentioned by the Prophet ﷺ. Also because of his deep faith and his lack of attachment to the material things in this world.

So when Ali bin Abu Talib left Yemen with a group of new Muslims to go back to Madinah, it was without the boy he bumped into on his way there. He had no idea that it the Uwais that the Prophet ﷺ had mentioned and the boy didn’t know it was Ali bin Abu Talib.

3 years later, the Prophet ﷺ passed away and years after that Abu Bakr also passed away. When Umar ibn AlKhattab became Khalifa, he would go around all the people during Hajj and call out, “Uwais, Uwais, Is there anyone here named Uwais?” He would go to the group that came from Yemen and ask them if a man named Uwais is among them. But no one had heard of this man. Umar realized it was just as the Prophet ﷺ described to him, that he was a man who was unknown among the people.

Year after year, Umar would go around at Hajj and call out and ask for Uwais. One year during Hajj, he stood at Mount Arafat and asked all the people making Hajj to stand up. Then he told everyone to sit down except those from Yemen. From that group, he told them all to sit down except those from Murad and from that group, he told them all to sit down except those from Qarn. One man was left standing. “Are you a Qarni?” asked Umar ibn Al Khattab. The man replied in the affirmative. “Do you know Uwais?” “Yes, he is my nephew. But what would you want with him. He is but a poor, forgotten man,” replied the Yemeni man.

Umar started to weep. “This man is not just a poor, forgotten man. He is a man who will choose 200,000 people to come with him into heaven. Is he with you?”
“No, he is not,” replied the man.
“Is his mother living,” asked Umar.
“Yes,” replied the man.
“I know he will not ever leave her, as this is what the Prophet ﷺ said,” replied Umar.

Umar searched for Uwais for ten years. A year before the death of Umar, Uwais’s mother passed away. That year, Umar stood up at Mount Arafat again and said to the people of Yemen, “Is Uwais al Qarni among you?” A Yemeni man said, “He is that shepherd standing over there.” Umar became so excited and went to look for Ali. “Ali! Ali! We found him!” he called out.

Umar and Ali approached Uwais and asked him, “Are you Uwais al Qarni?”
“Yes,” replied a surprised Uwais. “Show me your shoulder,” replied Umar. Uwais showed them his shoulder and they were able to see the mark that the Prophet ﷺ mentioned. “Is your mother with you?” asked Umar. Uwais replied that his mother had passed away. “Ah, it is just as the Prophet ﷺ said it would be then,” said Umar.

Uwais actually did not know these men so he asked them who they were. “I am Umar ibn AlKhattab, the Khalifa, and this is Ali ibn Abu Talib, the man who came to Yemen to spread Islam,” said Umar.
“Yes! I remember him! But, how do you know me?” asked Uwais.

So Umar told Uwais the whole story about how the Prophet ﷺ had talked about him years ago and how Angel Gabriel had described him. They said how his signs were the mark on his shoulder, his care for his mother, and his lack of attachment to this world. He said how Prophet ﷺ told them that he would take 200,000 people with him into Paradise. They told him how they had been looking for him for years.

Umar and Ali then asked Uwais to make du'a for them and ask forgiveness for him. “You are now my friend in this life and the next,” Umar said to Uwais. However, Uwais was not interested in the life of fame and ease that would come with being Umar’s friend, especially when people find out what the Prophet ﷺ had said about him. He kindly refused, and asked to be left as he is.

Uwais said he was going to go to Kufa. “Would you like me to write to the leader of Kufa to await your arrival and look after you?” asked Umar.
“No thank you. I would like to go unknown as I came,” replied Uwais.
“Ok then at least let me give you some money to help you out,” said Umar in an effort to do at least something for Uwais. “No thank you, my wool coat has still not worn out and neither have my shoes. I have four dirhams that I have still not used. When I run out, I will figure out how to get more. I am content this way,” replied Uwais.
“Please stay with me,” said Umar. “Thank you Umar. But what I have is good for me and what you have is good for you and the Muslims,” said Uwais.

Uwais left Mecca. He participated in the battle at Azerbaijan and died during the battle. His death came about 2 years after the death of Umar ibn AlKhattab. Uwais was about 35 years old.

When you sacrifice something for Allah or leave something for the sake of Allah, Allah will reward you with something unbelievably greater than it. Uwais didn’t get to be a Companion of the Prophet ﷺ because he chose to care for his mother, so Uwais was given the honor of being his Companion in Paradise. This also goes for you in even the smallest things.

Imagine how Uwais must have felt to hear what the Prophet ﷺ had said about him.

This story is also a reminder that our wealth, clothes and status are not an indication to how we are viewed by Allah. The story in the beginning of the man in the mosque was the Prophet’s ﷺ way of showing that to the Companions.

Uwais is going to take 200,000 people with him to Paradise! Even a martyr only gets 70,000.

May Allah increase our love for the Prophet (Allah bless him and grant him peace) and enable our children to serve their parents well. Ameen.

Please don't forget us in your night prayers. Jazakallahu khairan.

And Allah knows best.

Fill Your Chest With Riches and Your Shortcut to Paradise

In the Name of Allah, Most Merciful, Most Compassionate
Assalaamu alaykum

Dear Friends

I pray that you are well. InshaAllah, you are having a truly blessed Ramadhan and are maximizing your benefit and tasting the sweetness of these last remaining days.

In these last few days remaining of this blessed month Ramadhan, let's exert ourselves in the worship of our Lord and put away all our electronics especially at night.

“When the last ten days of Ramadan would come, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wassallam used to tighten his lower garment belt, spend the whole night in prayer and worship, and wake his family up (at night for prayer and worship).” [Bukhari and Muslim]

“The Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wassallam would strive his utmost (in prayer and worship) during the last ten [nights of Ramadan] much more than he did at any other time.” [Muslim]

Do lots of prayers and du'a especially at night. A prayer at night is not the same as a prayer during the day -- in it's virtues and reward. It's your shortcut to Paradise.

The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wassallam said: “The Lord descends every night to the lowest heaven when one-third of the night remains and says: ‘Who will call upon Me, that I may answer Him? Who will ask of Me, that I may give him? Who will seek My forgiveness, that I may forgive him?’” [Bukhari and Muslim]

Abu Huraira reported: The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wassallam said, “Allah the Exalted said: O son of Adam, busy yourself with my worship and I will fill your chest with riches and alleviate your poverty, but if you do not do so I will fill your hands with problems and never alleviate your poverty.” [Tirmidhi]

May Allah accept our worship, forgive our sins and grant us His mercy and Paradise. Ameen.

Please don't forget us in your prayers. Jazakallahu khairan.

And Allah knows best.
Wassalaam

Before It's Too Late

In the Name of Allah, Most Merciful, Most Compassionate
Assalaamu alaykum

Dear Friends

I pray that you are well.

Anas ibn Malik reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “All of the children of Adam are sinners, and the best of sinners are those who repent.” [ibn Majah]

By virtue of a genuine tawbah (repentance), all sins will be forgiven, therefore, no one should lose hope in the mercy of Allah. Allah Almighty has made it very clear that His forgiveness and mercy is very extensive.

Say, "O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful." (53) And return [in repentance] to your Lord and submit to Him before the punishment comes upon you; then you will not be helped. (54) And follow the best of what was revealed to you from your Lord before the punishment comes upon you suddenly while you do not perceive, (55)
[Qur'an, Az-Zumar 39:53-55]

However, that the time of tawbah has a deadline - it has to be well before death. If someone were to think of making his tawbah after death on the Day of Judgment, or is simply filled with remorse over what awful things he had done to himself, then, that will bring him no benefit.

On the Day of Judgment, some people would express different wishes, regretting what they had done. Someone will be filled with remorse as to why did he have to fall short in obeying the commands of Allah Almighty. Then, there will be that odd person even at a place like that who would love to wriggle out of the impasse blaming his destiny for his misconduct by saying - 'Had Allah given me the necessary guidance, I too would have been one of those who feared Him, but since He gave me no guidance, there was nothing I could do about it.' Still someone else would wish: 'Would that I were to be sent back into the world to become an observing believer, obeying the commandments of Allah at its best.' But, that will be a time when no wish and no remorse of any kind will work.

Lest a soul should say, "Oh [how great is] my regret over what I neglected in regard to Allah and that I was among the mockers." (56) Or [lest] it say, "If only Allah had guided me, I would have been among the righteous." (57) Or [lest] it say when it sees the punishment, "If only I had another turn so I could be among the doers of good." (58) But yes, there had come to you My verses, but you denied them and were arrogant, and you were among the disbelievers. (59)
[Qur'an, Az-Zumar 39:56-59]

Allah never forced anyone to be good and obedient. In fact, we are given the choice to take to either the way of the truth or the way of the false. This was a test for the maker of the choice. On this depended his or her success or failure. Whoever took to the way of error by one's own free will, choice and volition, he or she is, himself or herself, responsible for it.

And on the Day of Resurrection you will see those who lied about Allah [with] their faces blackened. Is there not in Hell a residence for the arrogant? (60) And Allah will save those who feared Him by their attainment; no evil will touch them, nor will they grieve. (61) Allah is the Creator of all things, and He is, over all things, Disposer of affairs. (62) To Him belong the keys of the heavens and the earth. And they who disbelieve in the verses of Allah - it is those who are the losers. (63)
[Qur'an, Az-Zumar 39:60-63]

Let's repent now and ask Allah for His forgiveness before it's too late.

May Allah have mercy on us and forgive all our sins and make us of those who are truthful and successful. Ameen.

Please don't forget us in your night prayers. Jazakallahu khairan.

And Allah knows best.

Setting Yourself Free From Destruction

In the Name of Allah, Most Merciful, Most Compassionate
Assalaamu alaykum

Dear Friends

I pray that you are well.

'Destruction to him who found the blessed month of Ramadhan and let it pass by without gaining forgiveness'

Ramadhan is slipping away from our fingers. Don't let these final days of Ramadhan pass you by and don't busy yourselves with things that won't benefit you in your next life.

Allah has made this month of Ramadhan very special -- it is the month of mercy, forgiveness and salvation from Hellfire. The Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) used to make preparations for this month 6 months in advance -- when they kept asking Allah to let them reach Ramadhan and in good health, and then for the next six months, they kept asking Allah to accept their worship of Ramadhan. This is the way of the best generation of the nation of Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wassallam. They took the matter of worshipping Allah very seriously. It is their way of life.

The purpose of our existence is to worship Allah and no other (i.e gods of this world -- those things that people are absorbed with or drawn to like money, people, things, status/prestige, news, places -- creation of God that cause people to forget the Creator, sometimes even cause people to harm/kill each other for).

What have we been doing this Ramadhan? In terms of worship, even our taraweeh and qiyamu alail in these last 10 days of Ramadhan could not even match the the Companion's one regular day in Ramadhan. But that should not stop us from trying to do the best. We should strive to do whatever is necessary to receive Allah's Mercy and His forgiveness and to be one of those chosen to be set free from Hellfire.

In these last 10 last days of Ramadhan, Allah is choosing from those who are on the path to Hell to be set free from the Fire. Those who fast and do whatever necessary to get Allah forgiveness and receive his mercy, Allah will then decree those people be set free from entering the Hellfire.

So in these last 10 days of Ramadhan, leave disobedience and rush to do obligatory works and supererogatory works. If you haven't been praying, start praying. If you have been lazy to wake up for Fajr, start waking up for Fajr. If you pray all five prayers everyday, add the sunnah prayers that are connected to the prayers. If you already have that in place, add the other sunnah prayers. Go to the masjid and join the taraweeh and qiyamu lail, stay up at night and read lots of Qur'an and make lots of du'a, ask Allah for forgiveness a lot and keep asking. You ask for yourself, your parents, your family and the ummah. You can't afford to pass these last 10 days by.

All of us sinned and no sin should be taken lightly. Each sin do carry certain punishment in this life or the next life or both, unless it is forgiven. In this life, Allah may punish us individually or collectively or both for the sins committed. Something we should reflect when we hear the injustices and atrocities committed against the Muslims and killings of our innocent or when we hear all the calamities that are happening one after another.

We need Allah's mercy to protect us from His anger and punishment and to be set free from entering the Hellfire. Spend a little longer time in prostration during your prayers and beg Allah for His mercy and forgiveness for yourself and the Muslim ummah.

The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wassallam said Ameen thrice when Jibreel alayhissalaam come and said..

Kaab Ibn Ujrah (RA) relates that Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wassallam) said, 'Come near to the mimbar' and we came near the mimbar. When he (sallallahu alayhi wassallam) climbed the first step of the mimbar, he (sallallahu alayhi wassallam) said 'Ameen', When he (sallallahu alayhi wassallam) ascended the second step, he (sallallahu alayhi wassallam) said 'Ameen', When he (sallallahu alayhi wassallam) climbed the third step, he (peace be upon him) said 'Ameen' When he (sallallahu alayhi wassallam) came down, We said 'O Rasul of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wassallam), we have heard from you today something which we never heard before' he (sallallahu alayhi wassallam) said When I climbed the first step, the angel Jibreel appeared before me and said,

'Destruction to him who found the blessed month of Ramadhan and let it pass by without gaining forgiveness'

upon that I said ‘Ameen’. When I climbed the second step, he said,

'Destruction to him before whom your name is taken and then he does not make Du'a for Allah’s blessing on me (by saying, for example, sallallahu alayhi wassallam).”

I replied ‘Ameen’. When I climbed the third step, he said

'Destruction to him in whose lifetime his parents or either one of them reaches old age, and (through failure to serve them) he is not allowed to enter Paradise'.

I said ‘Ameen’. [Hakim]

Note: In this Hadith, it appears that Jibreel (alayhissalaam) gave expression to three curses, upon which Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wassallam) said Ameen every time. Being an angel of such high mark, Jibreel‘s giving these curses is sure to be accepted.

May Allah, in His infinite mercy, grant us His help and save us from these three dangers. Ameen.

Every person is responsible for his or her own actions, and only his or her own deeds are carried forward to the next life, starting with his grave.

The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wassallam said, "Three things follow the bier of a dead man. Two of them come back and one is left with him: the members of his family, wealth and his good deeds. The members of his family and wealth come back and the deeds alone are left with him." [Muslim]

Accordingly, leave all distractions of this dunya (world). Don't get absorbed with the current news and events of the world. Don't let anyone or anything to take you away from your worship in these last 10 days of Ramadhan. Ramadhan is going to be over before you realize it.

May Allah grant us good health and enable us to complete Ramadhan strong and we ask Allah to accept our worship this Ramadhan and make us among those who He decreed for complete salvation from Hellfire and admit us into Paradise without reckoning. Ameen.

Let's Read Surah Kahf Today -- Youth Getting Together

In the Name of Allah, Most Merciful, Most Compassionate
Assalaamu alaykum

Dear Friends

I pray that you are well.

Allah Almighty says,

Indeed, We have made that which is on the earth adornment for it that We may test them [as to] which of them is best in deed. (7)
[Qur'an Al-Kahf 18:7]

The world is most beautiful to youth -- it's joys, pleasures, temptations. And typically, the young has the most trouble getting rid of materialism from their heads -- and particularly the young men.

When young men hang out together, they basically want to enjoy the beauty of this life -- eat, play sports, trash talk, goof off, looking at girls or cars, etc. And if they are non believers they are even worse. When young men get together, a lot of times trouble happens. But the young men in Surah Kahf were very different. They got together with a purpose -- to protect their iman (faith). So they ran away together from a society that would not allow them to practice their faith.

May Allah strengthen our youths and guide them. Ameen.

Please don't forget us in your night prayers. Jazakallahu khairan.

And Allah knows best.

Everybody Must Cross The Sirat (The Bridge Over Hell)

In the Name of Allah, Most Merciful, Most Compassionate
Assalaamu alaykum

Dear Friends

I pray that you are well.

No one will escape the Judgment Day, a Day the extent of which is 50,000 years (Qur'an, Al-Maarij 70:4), and everybody - be he a believer or a disbeliever - must cross the Sirat, the slippery bridge, thinner than a hair, sharper than a sword, that runs over Hell.

Allah Almighty says,

And there is none of you except he will come to it. This is upon your Lord an inevitability decreed. (71)
[Qur'an, Maryam 19:71]

Over that bridge, there will be hooks similar to the thorns of As-Sa'dan (a thorny tree), except that their greatness in size is only known to Allah, that will reach out to snag the people destined for the Hellfire. Those who will go to Hell, they will neither die nor attain a new life. People will fall off the bridge left and right. Some people will be ruined because of their evil deeds. Some people will be cut up into pieces as they fall into the Fire.

If that is not difficult enough, imagine crossing it in complete darkness. There will be no lights – no sun, no moon, no stars, nothing. But there will be light for the believers -- the light from iman (faith). The stronger the iman, the stronger the light shines.

Allah Almighty says,

On the Day you see the believing men and believing women, their light proceeding before them and on their right, [it will be said], "Your good tidings today are [of] gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein you will abide eternally." That is what is the great attainment. (12)
[Qur'an, Al-Hadid 57:12]

Crossing the Sirat depends on everybody's light.

Allah Almighty says,

Is one who is devoutly obedient during periods of the night, prostrating and standing [in prayer], fearing the Hereafter and hoping for the mercy of his Lord, [like one who does not]? Say, "Are those who know equal to those who do not know?" Only they will remember [who are] people of understanding. (9) Say, "O My servants who have believed, fear your Lord. For those who do good in this world is good, and the earth of Allah is spacious. Indeed, the patient will be given their reward without account." (10)
[Qur'an, Az-Zumar 39:9-10]

Some of the believers will cross the bridge as quickly as the twinkling of an eye, some others as quick as lightning, a strong wind, fast horses or she-camels. Some, by walking, some by crawling, some by creeping. Those who have very little light (iman and little good deeds) will creep facedown. Their hands and feet will slip, and they will cling to it again. Some people will be safe without any harm; some will be safe after receiving some scratches, and some will fall down into Hell. The last person will cross by being dragged over the bridge.

The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wassallam said, "...the Sirat will be laid across Hell and I (Muhammad) shall be the first amongst the Apostles to cross it with my followers. Nobody except the Apostles will then be able to speak and they will be saying then, 'O Allah! Save us. O Allah! Save us.'..." [Bukhari]

The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wassallam said, "On the Day of Resurrection I will stand by the side of the Sirat and wait for my nation to cross it. Allah will say, "Ask for whatever you want. Intercede for whomever you wish, for your intercession will be accepted." After interceding for my nation, I will continue entreating, and I will not rise to my feet until He says, "Put all people into Paradise who said la ilaha illallah (There is no god except Allah) once with sincerity and died with faith. [Imam Ahmad]

Abu Sa'id al Khudri reported the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wassallam said, "When the believers pass safely over (the bridge across) Hell, they will be stopped at a bridge between Hell and Paradise where they will retaliate against one another for the injustices done among them in the world, and when they are purified of all their sins, they will be admitted to Paradise. By Him in Whose hands the life of Muhammad is, everybody will recognize his dwelling in Paradise better than he recognizes his dwelling in this world." [Bukhari]

Allah Almighty says,

Then those who feared their Lord will be driven to Paradise in groups until, when they reach it while its gates have been opened and its keepers say, "Peace be upon you; you have become pure; so enter it to abide eternally therein," [they will enter]. (73) And they will say, "Praise to Allah, who has fulfilled for us His promise and made us inherit the earth [so] we may settle in Paradise wherever we will. And excellent is the reward of [righteous] workers." (74)
[Qur'an, Az-Zumar 39:74]

May Allah have mercy on all of us and make us among the people of Paradise, and enable us to cross the Sirat in a twinkling of an eye, and save us from falling into the Hellfire, even for a moment. Ameen.

Please don't forget us in your night prayers. Jazakallahu khairan.

And Allah knows best.

Money Is For Spending

In the Name of Allah, Most Merciful, Most Compassionate
Assalaamu alaykum

Dear Friends

I pray that you are well.

God does not give us money to look successful but He gives us money to spend it for His sake. So before death comes to you, don't delay the spending because once death comes, all the money you keep is not going to help you. And if you want to come back to this world to spend it all for Allah, you won't be able to.

Allah Almighty says,

And spend [in the way of Allah] from what We have provided you before death approaches one of you and he says, "My Lord, if only You would delay me for a brief term so I would give charity and be among the righteous." (10) But never will Allah delay a soul when its time has come. And Allah is Acquainted with what you do. (11)
[Qur'an, Al-Munafiqun 63:9-111]

If you could but see when the criminals are hanging their heads before their Lord, [saying], "Our Lord, we have seen and heard, so return us [to the world]; we will work righteousness. Indeed, we are [now] certain." (12)
[Qur'an, As-Sajda 32:12]

This Ramadhan is the best time to reach into your pockets and savings and spend, spend, spend for Allah's pleasure. May Allah accept.

Allah Almighty says,

Indeed, the men who practice charity and the women who practice charity and [they who] have loaned Allah a goodly loan - it will be multiplied for them, and they will have a noble reward. (18)
[Qur'an, Al-Hadid 57:18]

The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is like a seed [of grain] which grows seven spikes; in each spike is a hundred grains. And Allah multiplies [His reward] for whom He wills. And Allah is all-Encompassing and Knowing. (261)
[Qur'an Al-Baqarah 2:261]

Indeed, Allah has purchased from the believers their lives and their properties [in exchange] for that they will have Paradise. They fight in the cause of Allah, so they kill and are killed. [It is] a true promise [binding] upon Him in the Torah and the Gospel and the Qur'an. And who is truer to his covenant than Allah? So rejoice in your transaction which you have contracted. And it is that which is the great attainment. (111)
[Qur'an At-Tawba 9:111]

May Allah make us of those who are generous and spend only for His sake. Ameen.

Please don't forget us in your night prayers. Jazakallahu khairan.

Respecting Parents is Respecting Allah, Disrespecting Parents is Disrespecting Allah

In the Name of Allah, Most Merciful, Most Compassionate
Assalaamu alaykum

Dear Friends

I pray that you are well.

God Almighty has commanded us to give good and kind treatment towards our own parents and warned us against treating them with disrespect.

And your Lord has decreed that you not worship except Him, and to parents, good treatment. Whether one or both of them reach old age [while] with you, say not to them [so much as], "uff," and do not repel them but speak to them a noble word. (23)
[Qur'an Al-Isra' 17:23]

No word of disrespect should be uttered toward a parent, nor even a look of resentment or contempt. Even if you have a "cool" parent and they joke around with you, you still have to choose the best words when you want to say something to them. If you know certain word or expression is not good, don't use it, even it is acceptable in the certain society. Never mind what other people are doing or what your friends are doing or even if your parents don't seem to mind you using it.

Respecting parents is respecting Allah, disrespecting parents is disrespecting Allah.

Honoring parents can be considered a form of worship if the intention is to please the Almighty by respecting His commands.

Allah Almighty continues this verse by commanding us to be humble to our parents and to make du'a for them. His use of the word wing invokes the image of a mother bird tenderly shielding her young and calls to mind the gentleness that parents have for their children.

And lower to them the wing of humility out of mercy and say, "My Lord, have mercy upon them as they brought me up [when I was] small."
[Qur'an Al-Isra' 17:24]

Abu Hurayrah radhiAllahu anhu was a close companion of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wassallam; he is credited with remembering and transmitting many of the Prophets’ sayings.

The life of Abu Hurayrah also contains many demonstrations of his love and devotion to his mother. When he first embraced Islam, no amount of pleading could convince his mother to do the same. Weeping and afraid, Abu Hurayrah approached the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wassallam and begged him to make supplication to God asking that his mother be guided. The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wassallam complied with this request and within a very short period of time Abu Hurayrah’s mother uttered the words, “There is no god except Allah and Muhammad is His Messenger”, thus embracing Islam.

Throughout his life, Abu Hurayrah remained kind and courteous to his mother. Whenever he wanted to leave home, he would stand at the door of her room and say, “Peace be on you mother, and the mercy and blessings of Allah.” She would reply, “And on you be peace, my son, and the mercy and blessings of Allah.” He would also say, “May Allah have mercy on you as you cared for me when I was small,” to which she would reply, “May Allah have mercy on you as you delivered me from error when I was old.”

May Allah have mercy on our parents and grant our children the knowledge and wisdom to worship Allah in the best manner. Ameen.

Please don't forget us in your night prayers. Jazakallahu khairan.

And Allah knows best.

Beware of Distractors

In the Name of Allah, Most Merciful, Most Compassionate
Assalaamu alaykum

Dear Friends

I pray that you are well.

We are created to worship Allah and part of worshipping Allah is taking care of our children and teaching them His religion. But if we allow our children and our work to distract our remembrance of Allah, then this ayah should put us in place.

O you who have believed, let not your wealth and your children divert you from remembrance of Allah. And whoever does that - then those are the losers. (9)
[Qur'an, Al-Munafiqun 63:5]

May Allah give us the ability to worship Him in the best manner. Ameen.

Please don't forget us in your night prayers. Jazakallahu khairan.

And Allah knows best.

Transformation -- Obedience, Love and Loyalty

In the Name of Allah, Most Merciful, Most Compassionate
Assalaamu alaykum

Dear Friends

I pray that you are well.

Do you go to the masjid for prayers this Ramadhan because everybody is doing it or because they have great taraweeh imam or because they have special foods or because you can see your friends, etc?

When you go to the masjid tonight for prayers, stop and ask yourself, "Why am I doing this -- standing long hours in prayers at night (perhaps until early morning), and getting very little or no sleep at night?"

If the answer is other than to become a slave of Allah and worship Him, then there is something missing in our understanding of why we are created.

Allah Almighty says,

And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me. (56)
[Qur'an, Adh-Dhariyat 51:56]

In worshipping Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala, we must have total obedience to His commands, full love for Him and complete loyalty to Him. If you have one and not the other, then you need to work on your worship. It is natural that if you truly love someone, you always want to please that person and loyal to that person. This is how we should worship Allah.

Prayers are supposed to transform you and your personality. If you are not transformed and you are still doing haram -- gossip, cheat, lie, broke promises, taking riba; you are still not wearing hijab, you are still an angry or a nervous person; you are not good to your parents, family, neighbors; you are not giving charity or stingy; etc, then there is something wrong with your prayers. Take the opportunity this Ramadhan to really learn your prayers properly and strive to have more khushu' in your prayers, starting with your wudu' (ablution).

Du'a during wudu'

Mouth: O God, help me read Your Book and glorify Your name.
Nose: O God, grant me to enjoy the fragrance of paradise, while you are pleased to promise it to me.
(at the time of throwing dust from nose, say "I seek refuge with You from the stretch of Hell and from the evil of the world.")
Face: O God, make my face white and bright with Your light on the day when You will make the faces of Your friends bright.
Head: O God, cover me with Your mercy and shower upon me You blessings.

or

Mouth: O God, Help me to recite Qur'an and to make zikr
Nose: O God, Grant me to smell the fragrance of paradise, don't let me smell the smell of the hellfire
Face: O God, Whiten my face on the day when faces are whitened, don't blacken my face on the day when the faces are blackened
Hands/Arms: O God, Grant me my book of deeds on my right hand; Don't give my book on my left hand or behind my back
Head: O God, Grant me under the shade of Your throne
Ears: O God, Make me of those people who listen to speech and follow what's best in that speech
Neck: O God, Release my neck from the hellfire
Right foot: O God, Strengthen my foot on the bridge over the hell on the day when some people slip into hell
Left foot: O God, Make my sins forgiven and my works accepted and my transactions one day will not come to ruin

May Allah make us His best slaves and accept our worship. Ameen.

Please don't forget us in your night prayers. Jazakallahu khairan.

And Allah knows best.

Let's Memorize Today -- Du'a # 28 (During Prostrating Due to Recitation the Verse of Prostration)

In the Name of Allah, Most Merciful, Most Compassionate

Assalaamu alaykum

Dear Friends

I pray that you are well.

Allahumma salli 'ala Muhammad wa 'ala ali Muhammad

O Allah, send peace and blessings upon Muhammad (ﷺ) and the family of Muhammad (ﷺ)

Prostration of Recital (Sujud-At-Tilawah)

The way of performing this prostration is that the person should pronounce Takbeer (Allahu Akbar) and then prostrate and make this Du'a during the prostration as reported from Imam al-Tirmidhi.

(I have prostrated my face to the One Who created it and brought forth its hearing and seeing by His Might and Power. Blessed be Allah the Best of Creators).

O Allah, record for me a reward for this (prostration), and remove from me a sin. Save it for me and accept it from me just as You had accepted it from Your servant Daawud.

Ameen

And Allah knows best.

Let's Memorize Today -- Prophetic Du'a # 27 (In Seeking Laylat al-Qadr)

In the Name of Allah, Most Merciful, Most Compassionate

Assalaamu alaykum

Dear Friends

I pray that you are well.

Allahumma salli 'ala Muhammad wa 'ala ali Muhammad

O Allah, send peace and blessings upon Muhammad (ﷺ) and the family of Muhammad (ﷺ)

In seeking Laylat al-Qadr, say:

اللَّهُمَّ إنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ تُحِبُّ العَفْوَ فاعْفُ عَنِّي

Allahumma inni 'afuwun tuhibbul-afuwa fa'fu'anni

Allah, you are the Forgiving and love to forgive, so forgive me.

[Tirmidhi, Nasa’i, Ibn Majah]

Ameen

It is recommended to recite this du'a regularly, particularly (but not only) in the last ten days, by day and by night.

Remember Allah’s reminder:

If My servants ask you regarding Me, I am indeed Near. I answer the call of those who call upon Me when they call. So let them answer My call and let them believe in believe in Me–in order that they be truly guided. [Qur’an, Al-Baqarah 2.186]

May Allah forgive our sins and grant us laylatul-Qadr. Ameen.

And Allah knows best.

Assalaamu alaykum

Dear Friends

I pray that you are well.

Allahumma salli 'ala Muhammad wa 'ala ali Muhammad

When breaking fast with others, say:

أفْطَرَ عِنْدَكُمُ الصَّائِمُونَ، وأكَلَ طَعَامَكُمُ الأبْرَارُ، وَصَلَّتْ عَلَيْكُمُ المَلاَئِكَةُ

aftara `indakum as-sa’imun, wa akala ta`amakumu’l abrar, wa sallat `alaykumu’l mala’ika

Optimize Your Good Deeds This Ramadhan and Don't Play Around

In the Name of Allah, Most Merciful, Most Compassionate
Assalaamu alaykum

Dear Friends

I pray that you are well.

The month of Ramadhan is moving away very quickly. Ramadhan is the month of fasting and Qur'an. This is a time to fast, recite and listen to Qur'an during taraweeh prayers and at other times. This is not the time to watch TV and leisure. Strive to optimize your good deeds and don't play around. Don't waste time.

Don't play with your prayers, Qur'an, fasting and du'as. People may think Ramadhan is a joke or some kind of game until they arrive before Allah Almighty in the Day of Judgment. No one will escape this Day. No one can say "I am busy, I'll join later!" or "I am tired!" or "I need to take break!" No such thing in the Day of Judgment.

On the Day of Judgement, when people will reach the position of misery, and some will be saddened and give up hope in some ways, and when all will cry 'nafsi, nafsi' (‘myself, myself’), including all the prophets from Adam to Isa (peace be upon them), only Prophet Muhammad al-Mustafa (sallalllahu alayhi wassallam) will say ‘ummati, ummati’ (‘my people, my people’).

We are not prophets of Allah and we need the intercession to save us from the terror of the Day of Judgment and get into Paradise. We need our fasting and Qur'an -- they will intercede for us by Allah's permission.

'Abdullah Ibn 'Amr (radiallaahu anhu) reported that the Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) said: "The fast and the Qur'an will intercede for the servant on the Day of Judgement. The fast will say: 'My Lord, I restricted him from food and drink, so allow me to intercede for him.' And the Qur'an will say: 'I prevented him from sleeping at night, so allow me to intercede for him.' So they will be allowed to intercede." [Muslim]

Therefore, it is essential for the person fasting to recite the Qur'an much during these blessed days and honorable nights. For indeed, there is a special virtue for the abundance of recitation in Ramadhan, which is not found in any other month. We should take advantage of the nobleness of time during Ramadhan, in which Allah revealed the Qur'an.

It is reported that Jibreel used to meet with the Prophet (sallallaahu alaihi wasallam) during each night of Ramadhan and they would study the Qur'an together. [Bukhari, Muslim] So if making dhikr (remembrance of Allah) were better than the Qur'an or equal to it (on these nights), they would have done that all the time or at certain times along with constantly gathering for that occasion.

Take this opportunity to increase our Qur'an recitation and listening; strive to complete the Qur'an at least once before the end of Ramadhan, and make sure you complete your fasting this Ramadhan unless there is a legal excuse. The gates of Paradise are open in Ramadhan and there is a special gate for those who fasts, called Ar-Rayyan.

On the authority of Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) from the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wassallam), who said:
The believers will gather together on the Day of Resurrection and will say: Should we not ask [someone] to intercede for us with our Lord?

So they will come to Adam and will say: You are the Father of mankind; Allah created you with His hand He made His angels bow down to you and He taught you the names of everything, so intercede for us with your Lord so that He may give us relief form this place where we are. And he will say: I am not in a position [to do that] – and he will mention his wrongdoing and will feel ashamed and will say: Go to Nuh, for he is the first messenger that Allah sent to the inhabitants of the earth.

So they will come to him and he will say: I am not in a position [to do that] – and he will mention his having requested something of his Lord about which he had no [proper] knowledge (Qur'an Chapter 11 Verses 45-46), and he will feel ashamed and will say: Go to the Friend of the Merciful (Ibrahim).

So they will come to him and he will say: I am not in a position [to do that]. Go to Musa, a servant to whom Allah talked and to whom He gave the Torah (Taurat). So they will come to him and he will say: I am not in a position [to do that] – and he will mention the talking of a life other that for a life (Qur'an Chapter 28 Verses 15-16), and he will fell ashamed in the sight of his Lord and will say: Go to Isa, Allah’s servant and messenger, Allah’s word and spirit.

So they will come to him and he will say: I am not in a position [to do that]. Go to Muhammad (may the blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), a servant to whom Allah has forgiven all his wrongdoing, past and future.

So they will come to me and I shall set forth to ask permission to come to my Lord, and permission will be given, and when I shall see my Lord I shall prostrate myself. He will leave me thus for such time as it pleases Him, and then it will be said [to me]: Raise your head. Ask and it will be granted. Speak and it will be heard. Intercede and your intercession will be accepted. So I shall raise my head and praise Him with a form of praise that He will teach me. Then I shall intercede and He will set me a limit [as to the number of people], so I shall admit them into Paradise. Then I shall return to Him, and when I shall see my Lord [I shall bow down] as before. Then I shall intercede and He will set me a limit [as to the number of people]. So I shall admit them into Paradise. Then I shall return for a third time, then a fourth, and I shall say: There remains in Hell-fire only those whom the Qur'an has confined and who must be there for eternity. There shall come out of Hell-fire he who has said: There is no god but Allah and who has in his heart goodness weighing a barley-corn; then there shall come out of Hell-fire he who has said: There is no god but Allah and who has in his heart goodness weighing a grain of wheat; then there shall come out of Hell-fire he who has said: There is no god but Allah and who has in his heart goodness weighing an atom.
[It was related by al-Bukhari (also by Muslim, at-Tirmidhi, and Ibn Majah).]

Abu Hurayra said: The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wassallam said: There is for every prophet a prayer which is granted, but every prophet showed haste in his prayer. I have, however, reserved my prayer for the intercession of my Ummah on the Day of Resurrection, and it would be granted, if Allah so willed, in case of everyone amongst my Ummah provided he dies without associating anything with Allah. [Muslim]

So every time you think of going against a Sunnah this Ramadhan (e.g. taraweeh, spiritual retreat, etc), remember the Prophet's intercession, (Ummati, Ummati, Ummati - My People, my people, my people).

May Allah grant us mercy, forgiveness, steadfastness and accept our fasting and worship. Ameen.

Please keep us in your prayers. Jazakallahu khairan.

And Allah knows best.
