Assalaamu alaykum
Dear Friends
I pray that you are well.
اللّهُمّ صَلّ عَلَى مُحَمّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمّدٍ
Allahumma salli 'ala Muhammad wa 'ala ali Muhammad
O Allah, send peace and blessings upon Muhammad (ﷺ) and the family of Muhammad (ﷺ)
Abu Hurayra states that the Prophet, Allah bless him and grant him peace, said,
The most beloved places on Earth to Allah are its mosques, and the most despised places on Earth to Allah are its markets.[Muslim].
When entering the market, it is recommend to recite this invocation so we are reminded of Allah, the One Who has power over all things, unto Whom you shall return.
La 'ilaha 'illallahu wahdahu la sharika lahu, lahul-mulku wa lahul-hamdu, yuhyi wa yumitu, wa Huwa hayyun la yamutu, biyadihil-khayru, wa Huwa 'ala kulli shay in Qadir.
None has the right to be worshipped but Allah alone, Who has no partner. His is the dominion and His is the praise. He brings life and He causes death, and He is living and does not die. In His Hand is all good, and He is Able to do all things. [Tirmidhi]
It is stated in the hadith that if a person reads the above du’a in the market place, Allah writes ten lakh rewards for him and forgives ten lakh sins and raises his status by ten lakh, and a house is prepared for him in Jannah.
N.B. one lakh = 100,000 (Tirmidhi) Note: Whoever recites this du’a [in the market place], Allaah will reward him with a million virtues (hasanah), forgive a million of his sins and elevate his rank by a million
