Allah

In the Name of Allah, Most Merciful, Most Compassionate
Assalaamu alaykum

Dear Friends

I pray that you are well.

According to some learned men and religious scholars, Allah is the Greatest and the Most Magnificent Name, unique to God, the Cherisher and Sustainer of all the worlds, the Lord of all beings.

Allah - there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of [all] existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth...
[Qur'an al-Baqarah 2:255]

Everyone upon the earth will perish, (26) And there will remain the Face of your Lord, Owner of Majesty and Honor. (27)
[Qur'an Ar-Rahman 55:26-27]

He Almighty has given Himself this Name "Allah" affirming the fact that there is no god to be worshiped but He:

Indeed, I am Allah. There is no deity except Me, so worship Me (only) and establish prayer for My remembrance.
[Qur'an Ta Ha 20:4]

"O Moses, indeed it is I - Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Wise."
[Qur'an 27:9]

..."O Moses, indeed I am Allah, Lord of the worlds." ...
[Qur'an Al-Qasas 28:30]

The great name "Allah" occurs over 2,700 times in the Qur'an with which many verses start. It is a single Name solely unique to the Lord, which He Almighty has assigned to Himself, and placed in the head of all of His Names.

This Name "Allah" has the characteristic of being uttered by almost everyone, intentionally or unintentionally, once he starts to do anything, is surprised by anything, it put to confusion because of anything, or is put to trial as a result of anything. Allah Almighty begins His Book with: بِسْمِ ٱللَّـهِ (In the Name of Allah), which we should say once we intend to do something.

Allah Almighty invites us so many times to call Him in remembrance:

So remember Me; I will remember you. And be grateful to Me and do not deny Me.
[Qur'an al-Baqarah 2:152]

The Prophet, Allah bless him and grant him peace, also calls the people to do so, when he says:
"The distinctive ones (in the matter of service) will have the priority (to the others)." The companions asked: "O Messenger of Allah! Who are the distinctive ones?" he said: "They are those who celebrates (the Praises of) Allah so much often, be they males or females." It is further narrated in a hadith that Allah Himself says: "I'm present with him, who celebrates (the Praises of) Me."
Allah orders us to seek help from Him, in order to become able to overpower whatever problems or sources of grief befall us. The celebration of Allah is a reason for guidance which cheers us up, and a light, which always makes us feel at ease with any difficulty or distress that we might face. With it, Allah provides us with the spiritual power enough for us to overcome difficulties and defeat disasters.

It was narrated on the authority of Jabir that he said:
Once we complained to the Messenger of Allah, Allah bless him and grant him peace, if the very scorching heat and swelter (of sand whenever we offered the noon prayer), thereupon he said to us: "Seek help from (your saying): "There is no Might, nor Power but with Allah Almighty." no doubt it removes seventy kinds of harm, the slightest of which is distress.

Remembrance of Allah forbids one to commit what is shameful and vile of deeds and words.

Recite what has been revealed to you of the Book and establish prayer. Indeed, prayer prohibits immorality and wrongdoing, and the remembrance of Allah is greater. And Allah knows that which you do.
[Qur'an al-Ankabut 29:45]

Narrated by Abu Hurayrah that the Messenger of Allah, Allah bless him and grant him peace, said:
There is no people, sitting to celebrate (the Praises of) Allah, but the angels save them (from what is harmful and evil), Allah's Mercy covers them up, tranquility ascends upon them, and Allah Almighty remembers them in the presence of this (angels) who are with Him.
[Muslim]

It is reported that the Prophet, Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: The best (way of) celebrating (the Praise of Allah) is to say, "There is no god (to be worshiped) but Allah." The one whose heart is attached to such celebration becomes closer to Allah, and since he feels the nearness of Allah, he will have no fear of anyone other than Allah, not will be be concerned but with Allah, nor will he have a desire but for getting His pleasure.

May Allah Almighty make our hearts attached to Him alone. Ameen. Please keep us in your night prayers. Jazakallahu khairan.

And Allah knows best.
Wassalaam
