In the Name of Allah, Most Merciful, Most Compassionate
Assalaamu alaykum
Dear Friends
I pray that you are well.
The Prophet, Allah bless him and grant him peace, said,
When the servant marries, then he has completed half of the deen. Then let him fear Allah (Taqwa) with regard to the remaining half.
This is why the Prophet, Allah bless him and grant him peace, advised the men:
A woman is married for four reasons: for her property, her status, her beauty and her religion; so try to get the pious one that you may be successful.
Having a pious spouse is a great blessing. How much ache one is saved from if one has a pious spouse?
Allah Almighty says,
....هُنَّ لِبَاسٌ لَّكُمْ وَأَنتُمْ لِبَاسٌ لَّهُنَّ ...[Qur'an al-Baqarah 2:187]
...They are garments for you and you are the same for them...
Just as a garment covers and protects a person, so too does the husband or wife protect his or her companion--by providing security, helping to keep the eyes restrained and protect private parts (from illicit sex), covering each other's mistakes, and shielding them, not only from worldly harm, but more importantly, the Hellfire. Just like the closeness there is between the garment and a person's skin: nothing separates them and nothing should come between them.
If you are not married, don't be sad. Be content with it. Realize that what Allah has chosen for you is the best for you and you are missing out on something that maybe good for you.
Do not let the whispers of the shaytan lead you astray. Accept Allah's decree and thank Him for His blessings. Ponder the blessings that Allah has bestowed upon you and keep yourself busy with worship of Allah. Read the Qur'an and ponder on its meanings. Always comfort yourself with the words of the Messenger of Allah, Allah bless him and grant him peace,
How wonderful is the situation of the believer, for all his affairs are good. If something good happens to him, he gives thanks for it and that is good for him; if something bad happens to him, he bears it with patience, and that is good for him. This does not apply to anyone but the believer.[Muslim]
Be kind to yourself, and remember that there are millions of women who are not married. Perhaps if you saw the wife who has a hard-hearted husband who shows no compassion, and you heard her complaints about her continual suffering, you would praise Allah for saving you from marriage. Perhaps if you sit with a divorced woman who regrets having married, and listen to her complaints about how much she had put up with her ex and how much she suffered until she got her divorce, and finally regained her sense of security, perhaps you will praise Allah for not giving you a husband and put you in a mess that she did. If you sit with a struggling single mother, chasing after her little kids while trying to work, perhaps you will never want to get married.
Allah Almighty says,
فَعَسَىٰٓ أَن تَكْرَهُوا۟ شَيْـًٔا وَيَجْعَلَ ٱللَّـهُ فِيهِ خَيْرًا كَثِيرًا ...[Qur'an al-Nisa’ 4:19]
...Perhaps you dislike a thing and Allah makes therein much good.
Allah says,
[Qur'an [al-Baqarah 2:216]
and it may be that you dislike a thing which is good for you and that you like a thing which is bad for you. Allah knows but you do not know.
It was narrated that Ibn ‘Abbas said, I was riding behind the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) one day and he said:
O Boy, I shall teach you some words. Be mindful Allah and He will take care of you. Be mindful of Allah and He will protect you. If you ask then ask of Allah, and if you seek help then seek help from Allah. Know that if the nation were to gather together to benefit you in some way, they would not benefit you except in something that Allah has decreed for you, and if they were to gather together to harm you in some way, they would not harm you except in something that Allah has decreed for you. The pens have been lifted and the pages have dried.”[al-Tirmidhi]
May Allah grant us righteous family. Ameen. Please keep us in your night prayers. Jazakallahu khairan.
And Allah knows best.
Wassalaam
