In the Name of Allah, Most Merciful, Most Compassionate
Assalaamu alaykum
Dear Friends
I pray that you are well.
We should always be prepared for the inevitable--our death. Death is prepared for with good deeds. The one who dies has his actions cut off and his hopes lost.
Abdullah Ibn 'Umar (Allah be pleased with both father and son) used to say:
In the evening do not expect [to live until] the morning, and in the morning do not expect [to live until] the evening. Take [advantage of] your health before times of sickness, and [take advantage of] your life before your death. [Bukhari]
Don't postpone till the morning good actions that can be performed at night, but hasten towards doing good actions. Similarly, when we wake up in the morning, don't postpone our good actions till evening.
We should take advantage of our good health, and strive to do our utmost, fearing the onset of sickness which may prevent us from good actions.
The Messenger of Allah, Allah bless him and grant him peace, used to encourage his Companions upon making do with little from worldly possessions and said:
Remain in the world as though you are a stranger, or a passing traveler.
If you are busy with collecting worldly possessions, you will lag behind, and your excess baggage will only make it difficult for your travel to Allah.
There will be a time we will spend a long time under the ground, unable to perform any action and unable to remember Allah. So upon us is to hasten to good actions while we are still capable of doing them.
May Allah forgive us and guide us and our families to what pleases Him. Ameen.
Please don't forget us in your night prayers. Jazakallahu khairan.
And Allah knows best.
Wassalaam
