Power of Du'a: Supplication For The Missing MH370

In the Name of Allah, Most Merciful, Most Compassionate

Assalaamu alaykum

Dear Friends

I pray that you are well.

While rescue teams are tirelessly searching for the missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370, let us join in and turn to Allah and supplicate earnestly for the safe return of its crew and passengers. Allah has the power to do anything. It is easy for Him to bring back the aircraft with everyone in it safe and sound to their families and loved ones. He only says, "Be" and it is. Kun fa yakun.

Originator of the heavens and the earth. When He decrees a matter, He only says to it, "Be," and it is. (117)
[Qur'an 2:117]

When Prophet Musa (peace upon him) and Bani Israel were stuck at the sea and Fir'aun (Pharoah) was closing in on them, Musa called:

يا من كان قبل كل شئ والمكون لكل شئ والكائن قبل كل شئ اجعل لنا مخرجا

[Ya Man kaana qabla kulli shay', wal mukawwinu likulli shay', wal kaainu qabla kulli shay', ij'al lana makhraja]

Close meaning: O Who was before everything and the Bringer of everything into existence and the One Who existed before everything, make for us an exit/escape (from the difficulty).

And Allah told him to hit the sea with his staff. And you know the rest of the story.

This is a good du'a to make along with other Prophetic du'as and your own for the missing aircraft and all its crew and passengers. Simply change ij'al lana to ij'al lahum (make for them).

May Allah accept your sincere heartfelt supplication for them and all concerned.

Once the Prophet, Allah bless him and grant him peace, passed by a people who were suffering from some affliction. He asked, "Why don't they make du'a (supplication) to Allah for protection?"

The Prophet, Allah bless him and grant him peace, said:
The du'a of a Muslim for his brother (in Islam) in his absence is readily accepted. An angel is appointed to his side. Whenever he makes a beneficial du'a for his brother the appointed angel says, 'Ameen. And may you also be blessed with the same.'
[Muslim]

Du'a is the most potent weapon of a believer. Du'a should be the first and the last resort of the believer. Du'a is our intimate and transforming conversation with our Lord, the All Knowing, the All Powerful, Most Merciful. This act in itself is of extraordinary significance. We turn to Him because we know that He alone can lift our sufferings and solve our problems.

Nothing is too big for the One we are asking from and nothing is too small for the one who is asking. We ask Allah for all our needs, those related to our present worldly life as well as our next worldly life (of the deen and dunya). Even when asking for something as small as shoelaces, we beg with helplessness and dependence and great hope and conviction that He will grant it.

And when My servants ask you, [O Muhammad], concerning Me - indeed I am near. I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Me. So let them respond to Me [by obedience] and believe in Me that they may be [rightly] guided. (186)
[Qur'an Al-Baqara 2:186]

We don't just make du'a in times of distress but all the time. There is nothing more dear to Allah than a servant making du'a to Him.

The Prophet, Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: Whosoever desires that Allah answers his du'as in unfavorable and difficult conditions, he should make plentiful du'a in days of ease and comfort. Also he said: The person who does not ask from Allah, Allah becomes angry with him.

Please continue the du'as. May Allah accept your du'as. Ameen.

Jazakallahu khairan.

Allah knows best.

Wassalaam
