Let's Read Surah Kahf Today (Friday) -- Be With The People of True Remembrance of God

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
In the Name of Allah, Most Merciful, Most Compassionate

Assalaamu alaykum

Dear Friends

I pray that you are well.

We live in a free society. We pretty much can do whatever we want -- not pray, not fast, have girlfriends or boyfriends, drink, fornicate, bad to your parents or don't talk with your parents, without the neighbors raising their eyebrows. People don't care what you do as long as you are not in their backyard. And you feel safe. But what do you think your life is going to be after you die, with bad deeds or without faith in the Oneness of God, without submitting to Allah?

For the youth in Surah Kahf, also known as the companions of the cave, Allah made them a sign for us and those before us and those after us until the Day of Judgment. And they are reaping the reward every moment until the Day of Judgment for their sincere act of wanting to preserve their religion. They courageously went against the tide and by retreated to the cave to protect their faith.

What do people today do? Many take the easy way out regardless if it meant disobeying Allah. It is difficult to follow Allah's religion when people around you are not following the religion or telling you to sin or manipulating you to do what serve their selfish interests but you have to find the people of true remembrance of Allah (whether living or dead - if dead, you can read about their righteous and courageous lives) who will give you the courage to get out of your darkness inshaa Allah.

And keep yourself patient [by being] with those who call upon their Lord in the morning and the evening, seeking His countenance. And let not your eyes pass beyond them, desiring adornments of the worldly life, and do not obey one whose heart We have made heedless of Our remembrance and who follows his desire and whose affair is ever [in] neglect. (28) [Qur'an, Al-Kahf 18:28]

This is Allah's command.

May Allah make us of those who are patient and of those who say, "We hear and we obey." Ameen.

Allahumma salli 'ala Muhammad wa 'ala aalihi wa sahbihi wassallam.

And Allah knows best and He alone grant success.

Wassalaam
