بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
Narrated Muhammad bin Ka'b Al-Qurazi:
"I heard 'Abdullah bin Mas'ud saying: 'The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "[Whoever recites a letter] from Allah's Book, then he receives the reward from it, and the reward of ten the like of it. I do not say that Alif Laam Meem is a letter, but Alif is a letter, Laam is a letter and Meem is a letter." [At-Tirmidhi]
There is a reward for every single letter that you recite of the Quran even if you don’t know what you are saying. Obviously the point of the Quran is to read it, reflect and act upon it but even if you don't do that there, there's a tremendous benefit in our spiritual and our religious life to just be able to sit down and read the Quran. But it means you need to learn Arabic itself. Wouldn't it be nice to be able to read something in the original Arabic and understand what the text is about as opposed to reading some translation, which may not be completely accurate.
