Don’t Despair - Flee to Allah

Don’t Despair - Flee to Allah

When life gets overwhelming and you feel like you just can’t handle things anymore, don’t let hopelessness take over. Allah hasn’t forgotten you. Hard times are often a reminder to turn back to Him. So instead of breaking down, run to Allah with all your worries. Tell Him everything in your own words. He’s the One who can calm your heart, lift your burdens, and bring peace when nothing else can.

Allah says,

“Say, "O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful."” (Qur’an, Az-Zumar 39:53)

“Indeed, in the remembrance of Allah, hearts find rest” (Qur’an, Ar-Ra;d 13:28).

No matter how tough things get, Allah is always close to the one who calls on Him.

Let’s Read Surah Kahf Today (Friday): Stay Connected with the Quran

Let’s Read Surah Kahf  Today (Friday): Stay Connected with the Quran

Allah says in Surah al-Kahf,

[All] praise is [due] to Allah, who has sent down upon His Servant the Book and has not made therein any deviance. (1) [He has made it] straight, to warn of severe punishment from Him and to give good tidings to the believers who do righteous deeds that they will have a good reward (2)

Allah revealed Surah al-Kahf to guide us and help us stay strong when life gets difficult. The stories in the surah teach us how to handle challenges with patience and trust in Allah. They remind us not to get carried away by money, power, or what we see in this world, because everything here is temporary. Surah al-Kahf also protects us from major future trials, especially the test of the Dajjāl, showing us that staying close to the Qur’an keeps our hearts safe and steady.

Seek Allah’s Mercy, Not People’s Faults

Seek Allah’s Mercy, Not People’s Faults

Allah says, “O you who have believed, shall I guide you to a transaction that will save you from a painful punishment? [It is that] you believe in Allah and His Messenger and strive in the cause of Allah with your wealth and your lives. That is best for you, if you only knew. He will forgive your sins and admit you to gardens beneath which rivers flow, and pleasant dwellings in gardens of perpetual residence. That is the great attainment.” (As-Saff 61:10–12)

In these ayahs, Allah promises forgiveness and honor to those who struggle sincerely for His sake—He Himself covers their faults and grants them His mercy. Yet today, our Muslim culture often contradicts this divine principle. Instead of protecting and supporting those striving for Allah, some families and community members rush to expose their shortcomings, as if religiosity demands perfection or the absence of human weakness. But even the greatest scholars and the most righteous were not angels, nor could they ever surpass the rank of the Sahabah. Allah is al-Ghafūr, ar-Raḥīm—the One who forgives and conceals. If He covers the faults of His servants, who are we to uncover them?

A mistake may not always be excusable, but covering the fault remains a necessary adab. The Prophet ﷺ taught that whoever conceals the faults of a believer in this world, Allah will conceal theirs on the Day of Judgment. With such a tremendous reward before us, why waste our tongues on gossip, backbiting, and exposing others—when we could be earning Allah’s mercy for ourselves?

Think Before You Speak

Think Before You Speak

Talking without knowing the truth can cause a lot of harm. Islam teaches us to be careful with our words because once they’re spoken, they can’t be taken back.

Allah ﷻ says:
“And do not pursue that of which you have no knowledge. Surely the hearing, the sight, and the heart—each of these will be questioned.” (Surah Al-Isra, 17:36)

The Prophet ﷺ also warned, “It is enough for a person to be considered a liar if he repeats everything he hears.” (Muslim) This means we should avoid guessing, spreading rumors, or giving opinions about things we don’t truly understand. It’s always better to stay quiet than to speak wrongly.

Let’s Read Surah Kahf Today (Friday): Trusting Allah’s Wisdom When Life Doesn’t Make Sense

Let’s Read Surah Kahf Today (Friday):
Trusting Allah’s Wisdom When Life Doesn’t Make Sense

Even though Allah spoke directly to Musa (ʿalayhi as-salām), Allah still told him to seek knowledge from someone else—someone He called “My servant.”

This reminds us that no matter how knowledgeable or experienced we are, we will always need teachers.

Some lessons simply cannot be learned from books; they only come through real-life events and tests. Musa had knowledge of revelation, while Khidr had a different kind of knowledge—knowledge of realities and hidden wisdoms that only Allah reveals.

What Khidr did seemed confusing and even illogical on the surface, and that’s the point: unless we know Allah’s full plan, we can’t always understand the wisdom behind difficult or painful moments.

Sometimes you do good and see no reward, like the rebuilding of the wall. Sometimes people hurt you even when you’ve done nothing wrong. Sometimes you show kindness, and they respond with harm—to you or to someone else.

These are the moments when your patience and trust in Allah are truly tested.

The story teaches us humility, patience, and the understanding that Allah’s wisdom is far greater than what we can see.

May Allah give us the Faith to know that there is something good behind the horizon and grant us patience. Aameen.

Beware of Hypocrisy

Beware of Hypocrisy

Hypocrisy means pretending to be good or faithful on the outside while hiding bad intentions inside. The Prophet ﷺ warned that a hypocrite is someone who lies when he speaks, breaks promises, and betrays when trusted. Such behavior destroys the heart and faith.

Allah clearly warns us about their fate:
إِنَّ ٱلْمُنَٰفِقِينَ فِى ٱلدَّرْكِ ٱلْأَسْفَلِ مِنَ ٱلنَّارِ وَلَن تَجِدَ لَهُمْ نَصِيرًا
“Surely, the hypocrites will be in the lowest depths of the Fire, and you will find no one to help them.”
(Surah An-Nisa, 4:145)

Let’s always be honest, sincere, and true to our words—both with people and with Allah.

The Connection Between Iman and Taqwa

The Connection Between Iman and Taqwa

Iman means having faith in Allah and believing in everything He has taught us, while taqwa means being mindful of Allah in everything we do. They go hand in hand — when a person’s faith (iman) is strong, they naturally try to live in a way that pleases Allah (taqwa). And when someone practices taqwa by avoiding sin and doing good, their faith grows even stronger.

In simple terms, iman is believing in Allah, and taqwa is living that belief every day. Allah says in the Qur’an: “The most honored of you in the sight of Allah is the one with the most taqwa” (Surah Al-Hujurat, 49:13).

The Prophet ﷺ also said, “Taqwa is here,” pointing to his chest three times (Muslim), reminding us that true taqwa comes from a sincere heart filled with faith.
