Don't Be Blind

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
In the Name of Allah, Most Merciful, Most Compassionate
Assalaamu alaykum

Dear Friends

I pray that you are well.

We are created for the sole purpose to worship the Creator.

"I (Allah) did not create jinn and mankind except that they should worship Me (Alone)." Qur'an Adh-Dhariyat 51:56

The Creator is our God and there is no god except Allah. Those who don't know Allah, those who are absent from Him, and those who don't recognize Him in the matters and happenings around them, have only misery in their lives because they turn away from the reason they are on this earth.

These are the people who are extremely constricted, just like their souls are constricted--no room for guidance, no space for the Light to enter. They feel depressed, they feel heavy, they don't feel the elation of the People of Faith. They feel the constriction like the People of Kufr (disbelievers).

Just like their breasts are constricted, their very lives are constricted. To them nothing makes sense and everything is dark. If they lose a job or break a leg, they are miserable. They don't see the wisdom of the All-Wise in the happenings. If they make money they are overjoyed, they forget and they waste. They don't see that this is the enrichment of the All-Provider, to whom they will return.

"And whomsoever Allah wills to guide, He opens his breast to Islam, and whomsoever He wills to send astray, He makes his breast closed and constricted, as if he is climbing up to the sky. Thus Allah puts the wrath on those who believe not." Qur'an Al-Anaam 6:125

"But he who turn away from remembrance of Me, his will be a narrow life, and I shall bring him blind to the assembly on the Day of Resurrection." Qur'an Taha 20:124

Those who are ignorant of Allah are blind in the Day of Judgment because that is what they were in this life.

So the key to happiness and purposefulness is through knowing Allah and worshiping Him. Worshiping Him is obeying His commands.

"If you know the commander and you know the command, you exhaust yourself in obeying the command, while if you know the command and you don't know the commander, you try your best to avoid the command." Ratib Nabulsi

May Allah shower us with His Light. Ameen. Please don't forget us in your night prayers. Jazakallahu khairan.

And Allah knows best.
Wassalaam
