Reciting Surah Al Asr Before Leaving A Gathering

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم 

If Quran is the tree, Surah Al Asr is the seed. Revive the practice of the companions to recite Surah Al Asr before leaving a gathering.

It was narrated that Abu Madeenah al-Darimi said: When two men among the companions of Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam met, they did not part until one of them recited to the other:

وَٱلْعَصْرِ ‎﴿١﴾‏ إِنَّ ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ لَفِى خُسْرٍ ‎﴿٢﴾‏ إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ وَتَوَاصَوْا۟ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَتَوَاصَوْا۟ بِٱلصَّبْرِ ‎﴿٣﴾‏

 1. “By al‑‘Asr (the time). 2. Verily, man is in loss” [i.e., Surah al-‘Asr], then one would say salam to (greet) the other. Narrated by Abu Dawood

To Know Is To Love --- Learn Allah's Beautiful Names And Attributes

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم 

Performing the 5 times daily prayer is not difficult if you realize the majesty of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala. Make time to learn Allah's beautiful Names and Attributes. When you know Who you are talking to during prayer, you will be waiting to come back to it over and over again.

وَلِلَّهِ ٱلْأَسْمَآءُ ٱلْحُسْنَىٰ فَٱدْعُوهُ بِهَا ۖ وَذَرُوا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ يُلْحِدُونَ فِىٓ أَسْمَٰٓئِهِۦ ۚ سَيُجْزَوْنَ مَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ ‎﴿١٨٠﴾

And to Allah belong the best names, so invoke Him by them. And leave [the company of] those who practice deviation concerning His names. They will be recompensed for what they have been doing. [Al A'raf 7:180]

وَٱسْتَعِينُوا۟ بِٱلصَّبْرِ وَٱلصَّلَوٰةِ ۚ وَإِنَّهَا لَكَبِيرَةٌ إِلَّا عَلَى ٱلْخَٰشِعِينَ ‎﴿٤٥﴾

And seek help through patience and prayer, and indeed, it is difficult except for the humbly submissive [to Allah] (45) [Quran, Al baqarah 2:45]

Be Among The Best

The Secret In The Teacher

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم 

Scholars said that the secret in the teacher delivering is the secret in that of the students that are attending and benefiting. If the students are sincere in seeking knowledge, it opens up the door for the teacher that wasn't open before because of the sincerity of the students. 

May Allah grant us sincerity. Aameen.

Pray And Pray With Humility

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم 

Prayer is the first thing you will be asked about on the Day of Judgement. If it is good, your Day will be good. If it is bad, your Day will be bad.

قَدْ أَفْلَحَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ ‎﴿١﴾‏ ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ فِى صَلَاتِهِمْ خَٰشِعُونَ ‎﴿٢﴾‏

Certainly will the believers have succeeded: (1) They who are during their prayer humbly submissive (2) [Quran, Mu'minun 23:1-2]

May Allah make us of His obedient servants and grant us success in this life and the next. Aameen.

Let's Read Surah Kahf Today (Friday) -- Make Time To Read The Quran Daily

Bismillah

Make time to read the Quran daily. Don't read it only when you have the time for it. You must make the time for Quran. 

Today is Friday, let's read Surah Kahf as we are commanded to do so every Friday. It is our protection in this life as we go through the trials of practicing our religion Islam,  the trials of wealth, knowledge and power. Memorize at least the first 10 verses of surah kahf to be protected from dajjal (antichrist).

رَبَّنَآ ءَاتِنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ رَحْمَةً وَهَيِّئْ لَنَا مِنْ أَمْرِنَا رَشَدًا 

Our Lord, grant us from Yourself mercy and prepare for us from our affair right guidance.

Pray As If You Are Going To Die Today

Bismillah

In the Day of Judgment, there is an evaluation of all our deeds including our prayers. It doesn't mean that all of our prayers are valued in same way. Not only the outside of our deeds are being judged, the inside are also being judged.

Even though we are praying at the same time in congregation, doing the same movements, but the value of our prayer is different. What is in our hearts when we pray or when we do any good deed? All these are ready to be weighed on the Scale on the Day of Judgment. 

The one whose Scale is heavy with good deeds is the successful one. May Allah make us of those people. Aameen

فَأَمَّا مَن ثَقُلَتْ مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ ‎﴿٦﴾‏ فَهُوَ فِى عِيشَةٍ رَّاضِيَةٍ ‎﴿٧﴾‏ وَأَمَّا مَنْ خَفَّتْ مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ ‎﴿٨﴾‏ فَأُمُّهُۥ هَاوِيَةٌ ‎﴿٩﴾‏ وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا هِيَهْ ‎﴿١٠﴾‏ نَارٌ حَامِيَةُۢ ‎﴿١١﴾‏

Then as for one whose scales are heavy [with good deeds], (6) He will be in a pleasant life. (7) But as for one whose scales are light, (8) His refuge will be an abyss. (9) And what can make you know what that is? (10) It is a Fire, intensely hot. (11) [Quran, Al Qari'ah 101:6-11]

May Allah accept our good deeds and save us from the Hellfire. Aameen.

What Does Allah Wants From You?

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم 

Human beings are greedy and crazy about getting more and better. Allah says, they love money and wealth so much. 

وَتُحِبُّونَ ٱلْمَالَ حُبًّا جَمًّا ‎﴿٢٠﴾‏

And you love wealth with immense love. (20)

[Quran, Al Fajr 89:20]

وَإِنَّهُۥ لِحُبِّ ٱلْخَيْرِ لَشَدِيدٌ ‎﴿٨﴾‏

And indeed he is, in love of wealth, intense. (8) [Quran, al Adhiyat 100]

When it comes to making money, people can get up early in the morning, rush to work, even willing to put themselves in danger. There is this sense of urgency to earn and acquire. 

But when it comes to something that has value on the Scale in the Day of Judgment, like prayers and Quran, these can wait. They find these are distractions to what they are doing right now, instead of what they are doing right now is a distraction to their prayers and Quran right now.  

You can't do this because your time is running out and you are running after things that are nothing but loss. Allah says,

وَٱلْعَصْرِ ‎﴿١﴾‏ إِنَّ ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ لَفِى خُسْرٍ ‎﴿٢﴾‏ إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ وَتَوَاصَوْا۟ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَتَوَاصَوْا۟ بِٱلصَّبْرِ ‎﴿٣﴾‏

By time, (1) Indeed, mankind is in loss, (2) Except for those who have believed and done righteous deeds and advised each other to truth and advised each other to patience. (3) [Quran, Al Asr 103]

May Allah grant us righteous deeds and patience. Aameen

Have You Read The Quran Today? -- Manners With The Quran

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم 

We must approach the Quran with adab. 

Adab is proper manners. It is a praiseworthy way of approaching something. Why is adab important? Because we have been commanded by Allah to act in a certain way -- obligation, sunnah and recommended. Adab expresses our submitting to the high command and seeking Allah's pleasure. Adab signifies our attitude of seeking Allah and our awe of Allah's Majesty and yearning for Allah's beauty. Adab are means of expressing our striving towards Allah. 

One of the adabs with the Quran is in the amount of reading. The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam gave us guidelines. Try to finish reading the Quran monthly and better than that twice a month and better than that weekly and better than that every three days. These are levels. He also called us to always strive to recite the Quran as well as to have tadabbur (reflection of the Quran). There is quantity and quality.

Have Your Read The Quran Today? -- Act of Worship

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم 

Reading the Quran is an act of worship. Allah says, 

 وَرَتِّلِ ٱلْقُرْءَانَ تَرْتِيلًا

...and recite the Qur'an with measured recitation.

[Quran, Al-Muzzamil 73:4] 

Have you ever asked yourself why you are reading the Quran? 

Read the Quran daily, taking it as an act of worship to Allah.

وَمَا خَلَقْتُ ٱلْجِنَّ وَٱلْإِنسَ إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُونِ 

And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me. 

[Quran, Adh-dhariyat 51:56]

May Allah make us His true worshippers and grant us sincerity. Aameen.

Do Not Be Ungrateful

Do not be ungrateful to someone who does you a favor – that is the lowest form of ingratitude.

Why Knowledge Is Better Than Wealth

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم 

Knowledge is better than wealth: 

Knowledge protects you, whereas you have to protect wealth. 

Wealth decreases with spending, whereas knowledge increases with it. 

Knowledge is a faith to be followed. It helps you practice obedience to your lord in your lifetime, and leaves a beautiful legacy of remembrance after your death; whereas the benefits of wealth cease with its ceasing. 

And knowledge rules, while wealth is ruled over. Those who hoard wealth are dead even as they live, whereas the learned remain as long as the world remains – their persons may be lost, but their teachings live on in people’s hearts.

Have You Read The Quran Today? -- Degrees of Recitation

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم 

Have you read the Quran today?

You should rise in your degrees of recitation of the Quran...when you recite the Quran you are entering into the Divine presence. Be conscious that you are reciting the Quran to Allah. You are standing before Him, imploring Him and He is listening. He is addressing you with His mercy, His guidance and bestowing His gifts upon you. Be mentally and actively aware of this. Be conscious of His attributes. Allah comes first, then His address. 

إِنَّمَا ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ ٱلَّذِينَ إِذَا ذُكِرَ ٱللَّهُ وَجِلَتْ قُلُوبُهُمْ وَإِذَا تُلِيَتْ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَايَٰتُهُۥ زَادَتْهُمْ إِيمَٰنًا وَعَلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ يَتَوَكَّلُونَ ‎﴿٢﴾‏

The believers are only those who, when Allah is mentioned, their hearts become fearful, and when His verses are recited to them, it increases them in faith; and upon their Lord they rely -

[Quran, al Anfal 8:2]

May Allah enable us to put Him first in our lives and increase our ranks with Him. Aameen.

Read The Quran Everyday

Bismillah

Read the Quran everyday....

We are living in a strange age of information but strangely most of us don't know much about Islam and how Quran is guidance, comfort and healing. 

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ قَدْ جَآءَتْكُم مَّوْعِظَةٌ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ وَشِفَآءٌ لِّمَا فِى ٱلصُّدُورِ وَهُدًى وَرَحْمَةٌ لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ‎﴿٥٧﴾

O mankind, there has to come to you instruction from your Lord and healing for what is in the breasts and guidance and mercy for the believers. [Quran, Yunus 10:57]

If we don't know this, we become easy prey to shaytan (devil). When things are going bad...bad kids, bad marriage, bad health, conflicts, oppressions, wars... people start listening to the whispers of shaytan and question about Allah and the Faith. They stop praying. stop going to the masjid, stop making du'as, take off their hijabs, .... 

Reading the Quran protects you from the shaytan that you know and the shaytan that you don't know. 

The first word that revealed in the Quran was a command which says: “Read!” With every new knowledge, there must be reading. And you first start with the Quran with reading before embarking on understanding. 

Read it, understand it, practice it, and you shall reread it in the Jannah.

Embark The New Hijri Year 1444AH With A Great Goal

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم 

Embark this new Hijri year 1444 in a beautiful and excellent way. This month of Muharram is  very sanctified, even the name means sanctified. 

By the command of Allah, Muslims enter a year with a sanctified month and end the year with a sanctified month (Dhul-Hijjah). 

The reward of good deeds in the sanctified months is multiplied and so is the liability for bad deeds. 

So enter this month with the right foot, with high conscious of Allah. Have a goal to do something great for the sake of Allah.
