Beware Of Shaytan's Tricks

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

Dear Friends

I pray that you are well.

It came to my attention a claim of archeological "discovery" in Saudi Arabia which points to the annihilated nation of 'Ad mentioned in the Qur'an. Allah knows best. Since it is related to this article We Wouldn't Have Known, I thought I share these thoughts with you.

Below are links saying that this "discovery" is a hoax. I am not suggesting that you read them word for word or even read them at all and start indulging yourself in discussions about the truth or untruth of the discovery.

Remember, the Shaytan loves to distract us from our Lord and this one is among his tricks. Your time is best spent on contemplating on the creation of Allah that surround us that we know for real--the skies, the earth, the sun, the moon, the stars, the trees, the rivers, the breeze, the changing seasons, ...etc. This can help you in your spiritual journey to know Allah. When you know Allah, you will love Him and He will love you, and you will never feel alone.

The "discovery" mentioned above, whether they are true or not, Allah knows best, is immaterial to us. We have the Qur'an, Alhamdulillah, and it is sufficient proof to us that the people of 'Ad existed and they were annihilated due to their disbelief and their disobedience.

The story of the people of 'Ad and many other previous nations mentioned in the Qur'an, serve as a warning to us of what will happen if we disbelieve and disobey Allah and His Messenger, Allah bless him and grant him peace. It should strike fear in our hearts of Allah Most High and make us rush to obedience. Allah brought everything into existence and He can bring everything out of existence. It is easy for Him. Allah Al-Mighty says, "Be and it be!" This should change us.

If we insist to disbelieve in Allah and His Ayaat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc,) Allah will include us in severe punishment when He decrees it. If we stick to the Truth that we have and keep away from the ways of the non-believers, and we are grateful with what Allah has given us, whenever Allah punishes the non-believers, Allah will save us because we believe in Him inshaAllah.

"And when Our Commandment came, We saved Hud and those who believed with him by a Mercy from Us, and We saved them from a severe torment. Such were 'Ad, they rejected the Ayaat of their Lord and disobeyed His Messengers, and followed the command of every proud obstinate (oppressor of the truth, from their leaders) (Qur'an Hud 11:58-59)

"When Our decree issued, We saved Shu'aib and those who believed with him, by (special) mercy from Ourselves. But the (mighty) blast did seize the wrong- doers, and they lay prostrate in their homes by the morning,- As if they had never dwelt and flourished there!. Ah! Behold! How the Madyan were removed (from sight) as were removed the Thamud!" (Qur'an Hud 11:94-95)

Our existence is to worship Allah, the only One. What we should be doing is always focus on our obligatory worship and perfecting them, while increasing our voluntary worship. We hope by these good deeds, our Lord will love us and be merciful to us.

The internet, while it is a great tool for educating the masses about Islam and other da'wah works, it is also a huge distractor and time-waster, and many people, even people with knowledge, fall into the trap. So beware. Remember, the Shaytan to the humans is a clear enemy. So treat him like an enemy.

InshaAllah, by this time you don't have a need to open these links.

Global Warming

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

Dear Friends

I pray that you are well.

They say we all have skeletons in our closets. But my skeletons perhaps are a little different than yours. My closets are full of other people's skeletons and it's time to get rid of those skeletons. I don't want to live with them but I had no choice. In my profession I have to keep them for a certain number of years to comply with the law. I have been going through them for weeks but I am not finished! It seems like an endless task. The moment I opened them, the bigger it becomes! Allah help me! My house is starting to look like a disaster area with files and papers all over the place. It is cheaper to just take each skeleton and throw them but they are identifiable so I have to get a shredding company to remove them--I can't do it myself--the skeletons are too large! SubhanAllah.

These papers are reminders to myself that we create great problems for ourselves. The lawyers and the clients themselves. It is no wonder that California was termed as a "sue-happy" state--the number of lawyers in the state amount to somewhere in the neighborhood of 1 lawyer for every 200 citizens! SubhanAllah. We fight and fight! Some cases took years to resolve! And I still have a few old cases that are still lingering and I pray to Allah that they go away. Look at the paperwork generated for each case all these years--just a few of us lawyers are enough to destroy much of the Amazon rain forest and perhaps the cause of the global warming effect. Inna lillahi wainna ilayhi raji'un.

Allah says: "Is not Allah Sufficient for His slave?" Qur'an Az-Zumar 39:36

"And Allah is not unaware of what you do." Al-Baqarah 2:74

And Allah knows best.

May Allah give us tawfiq. Ameen. Please don't forget us in your night prayers. Jazakallahu khairan.
