بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
Assalaamu alaykum
I pray that you are well.
Hadith: "A person will be with whom he loves in the Day of Judgment." This was the most beloved hadith to the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) when they heard this but this hadith should be very scary to us. Why? The answer lies in the answer to this question. Who is in my heart?
Hadith: "None of you truly believe until I am more beloved by him than all his wealth, his parents, and all people."
Ask yourself, are you willing to give everything you own for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)? How much are you willing to give up to set your gaze on the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) for a moment?
Answering these questions will give us an idea where the change need to be.
When you love someone, or when you are infatuate with someone, that someone inhabits your heart. That someone inhabits your mind. All you can do is think about that someone. You think that someone is wonderful, you want to praise that someone. Mentioning every single details about that someone bring happiness in your heart. If you love someone, praise will come naturally. They say praise on the tongue is a sign of love in the heart.
Apply this to our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Bring or deepen the love for him in your heart. To inculcate love is to contemplate why someone is worthy of your love. Praising our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) much is a way to inculcate that love inshaAllah.
May Allah resurrect us in the company of our beloved Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
