BismillahirRahmanirRahim
Assalaamu alaykum
I pray that you are well.
Knowing Allah will help us in our worship. Just like talking with a friend and a stranger is very different, worshiping Allah knowing Him and worshiping Allah not knowing Him will be totally different. When you truly know Allah, you will adore Him to the utmost meaning of the word. You will want to be with Him day and night. Who wouldn't want to be with his/her lover? In this life you can be close to Him and He is the closest to you in prostration (sujud). If you don't feel close to Him in sujud, just try to feel thankful to Him every time you make that sujud. You are thankful to Him because that sujud can only be done by His Grace. He allowed you to make that sujud as a favor to you to be close to Him. He chose you over many many other servants of His to do that sujud. So make this your first priority--learn more about your Lord, the Generous One (Al-Karim) and the Source of all goodness (Al-Barr).
May Allah guide us to excellent worship. Ameen.
And Allah knows best.
Wassalaam
