Begin Your Letter With Bismillah

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
In the Name of Allah, Most Merciful, Most Compassionate
Assalaamu alaykum

Dear Friends

I pray that you are well.

There is not a single aspect of human life on which Qur'an does not provide guidance. Mutual exchange of welfare and other information through writing is part of human communication.

In Surah An-Naml, full text of the letter from Prophet Sulayman, peace be upon him, to Queen Saba' has been reproduced. This is a letter from a prophet, and Qur'an has reproduced it as an approved format for a letter.

Indeed, it is from Solomon, and indeed, it reads: بِسْمِ اللَّـهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ Bismillah ir-Rahman ir-Rahim [In the Name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful], (30) Be not haughty with me but come to me in submission [as Muslims].' " (31)
[Qur'an An-Naml 27:30-31]

This beautiful word bismillah is a magnificent reminder of our relationship to our Creator and our relationship to all of creation. We should try to follow this guidance for our written communication. It is a good opportunity to reflect upon the blessings of Ar-Rahman, Ar-Rahim for all of us. It only takes seconds for this good deed.

With every breath that we breathe, may we be act on behalf of the Divine Presence, the Source of all that we receive.

With every step that we take, may we be instruments of the One Light which guides us, the Source and Nourisher of all of creation.

Every moment of this life is filled with your eternal radiance my Beloved, You are the Beneficent One who endlessly showers all of creation with nourishment and blessings, and the One who generously rewards those who live in harmony with Your Divine Will.

May Allah grant us tawfiq. Ameen.

Please don't forget us in your night prayers. Jazakallahu khairan.

And Allah knows best.
Wassalaam
