In the Name of Allah, Most Merciful, Most Compassionate
Assalaamu alaykum
Dear Friends
I pray that you are well.
Imagine coming on the Day of Judgment and seeing mountains of good deeds filling up your Scale. Where did these good deeds come from?
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and grant him peace) said,
There are two statements that are light for the tongue to remember, heavy in the Scales and are dear to the Merciful: سبحان الله و بحمده -- Subhan-Allahi wa bihamdihi, سبحان الله العظيم -- Subhan-Allahil-Adheem (Glory be to Allah and His is the praise, (and) Allah, the Greatest is free from imperfection)’.[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and grant him peace) said,
He who utters 100 times in a day these words: `La ilaha illallahu, wahdahu la sharika lahu, lahul-mulku wa lahul-hamdu, wa Huwa `ala kulli sha’in Qadir (there is no true god except Allah. He is One and He has no partner with Him; His is the sovereignty and His is the praise, and He is Omnipotent),’ he will have a reward equivalent to that for emancipating 10 slaves, 100 good deeds will be recorded to his credit, 100 of his sins will be blotted out from his scroll, and he will be safeguarded against the devil on that day till the evening; and no one will exceed him in doing more excellent good deeds except someone who has recited these words more often than him.[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].
And he who utters: `Subhan-Allahi wa bihamdihi’ 100 times a day, his sins will be obliterated even if they are equal to the extent of the foam of the ocean.
Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and grant him peace) said to me,
Shall I tell you the expression that is most loved by Allah?” It is `Subhan-Allahi wa bihamdihi’[Muslim].
Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (Allah bless him and grant him peace) said,
For him who says: `Subhan-Allahi wa bihamdihi,’ a palm-tree will be planted in Jannah.[At-Tirmidhi].
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and grant him peace) said,
He who recites in the morning and in the evening the statement: `Subhan-Allahi wa bihamdihi’ 100 times, will not be surpassed on the Day of Resurrection by anyone with better deeds than one who utters the same words or utters more of these words.[Muslim].
You might already know these ahadeeth, but do you remember to say the adhkar everyday?
So won't you say سبحان الله و بحمده (Subhan-Allahi wa bihamdihi) سبحان الله العظيم (Subhan-Allahil-Adheem) now for 100 times and repeat it every day for the rest of your life? If you have children, say all 100 together with them to instill this beautiful daily habit in them. It doesn't take more than a few minutes to say them.
May Allah make it easy on our tongues to glorify and praise Allah and keep our tongues moist with His remembrance. Ameen
Allahumma salli 'ala Muhammad wa 'ala aalihi wa sahbihi wassallam.
Allah alone grant success.
And Allah knows best.
Wassalaam
