In the Name of Allah, Most Merciful, Most Compassionate
Assalaamu alaykum
Dear Friends
I pray that you are well.
Allah tries us both by well being and adversity: in the one we should show humility and kindness; and in the other patience and faith. Often, people get puffed up in well being and depressed in adversity, putting false values on this world.
Allah provides for everyone, but people complain if they are straitened, or if what they have is different from that given to other people. Perchance his mind is so absorbed in what he sees, that he doubts the vast Realities he does not see. The present makes him blind to the past and the future.
When we have plenty, do we think of the fatherless children and the struggling poor? Too many people are ready to embezzle the helpless orphan's inheritance. Too many people are swept away in this fleeting world, forgetting and ignoring the poor and the needy. We choke up the spring of charity and kindness to others.
Whether we failed to respect the rights of the orphans and the poor and the needy or actually suppressed those rights in our mad love for the things of this life, we will have to answer in the realm of Reality. This world, which we imagine to be so real, will crumble to powder before the Haqq, the One Who truly exists, manifested Glory. Then we shall remember, and wish, too late, that we had repented.
"Verily, your Lord is (as a Guardian) on a watch-tower.
Now, as for man, when his Lord tries him, giving him honor and gifts, then says he, (puffed up), “My Lord has honored me.”
But when He tries him, restricting his subsistence for him, then says he (in despair), “My Lord has humiliated me!”
Nay! But you treat not the orphans with kindness and generosity.
And urge not one another on the feeding of the poor!
And you devour inheritance all with greed
And you love wealth with much love!
Nay! When the earth is ground to powder,
And your Lord comes with the angels in rows,
And Hell will be brought near that Day. On that Day will man remember, but how will that remembrance (then) avail him?
He will say: "Alas! Would that I had sent forth (good deeds) for (this) my life!" So on that Day, none will punish as He will punish.
And none will bind as He will bind."
(Qur'an Al-Fajr 89:14-26)
May Allah has mercy on us and forgive us. Ameen. Please don't forget us in your night prayers. JazakAllahu khairan.
And Allah knows best.
Wassalaam
