In the Name of Allah, Most Merciful, Most Compassionate
Assalaamu alaykum
Dear Friends
I pray that you are well.
The Prophet, Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, “Truly wonderous is the matter of the believer, for his every matter is good, and that is not for any but the believer: if good times come to him he is grateful, so it is better for him, and if bad times come to him he is patient, so it is better for him.”(Muslim)
Couple nights ago one of my neighbors on the right of my apartment building got married and the neighborhood was filled with music till the early morning! Some people had a good time, no doubt. Tonight my neighbor on the left of my apartment building got sick. The whole neighborhood came out when we heard some children calling out for help. And the neighbor was carried down from her apartment and rushed to the hospital in one of the neighbors' SUV.
Everyone experiences good times and bad times. Today we are fine, tomorrow only Allah knows. These are tests of gratitude and patience. Whoever deals with them in a manner pleasing to Allah benefits from everything and finds good in everything; and whoever approaches good times with pride and arrogance and bad times with despair and bitterness has failed and become remote from the Lord.
May Allah save us from the trials and tribulations of this life and the next and make us among the grateful and the patient. Ameen. Please don't forget is in your night prayers. JazakAllahu khairan.
And Allah knows best.
Wassalaam.
