Hasty Humans

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
In the Name of Allah, Most Merciful, Most Compassionate

Assalaamu alaykum

Human beings are hasty by nature. This is especially true nowadays. Just look at any of the roads in your city during daytime. People are hurrying by, walking in full speed, cars honking, as if your life or death depends on overtaking another car. When browsing the net, we become restless when downloads take a few extra minutes to complete. When waiting for the elevator, they press the button several times as if it will make the elevator suddenly realize, ‘Oh you are in a hurry!' When praying, they rush like a woodpecker--take your time praying because this may be your last one. When knocking at the door or ringing the door bell, they have to repeat it many times, as if that would hurry someone to open the door--allow time for people to come to the door, perhaps they are praying four rakaat.

In all that hurry, don't forget about what’s most important – what we're earning for the Hereafter.
كَلَّا بَلْ تُحِبُّونَ الْعَاجِلَةَO وَتَذَرُونَ الْآخِرَةَ

No! But you love the immediate (20) And leave the Hereafter. (21)
[Qur'an, Al-Qiyamah 75:20-21]

May Allah grant us patience and excellence in our worship. Ameen.

Allahumma salli 'ala Muhammad wa 'ala aalihi wa sahbihi wasallam.

And Allah knows best and He alone grants success.

Wassalaam
