بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
In the Name of Allah, Most Merciful, Most Compassionate
Surah Al Fatihah is the opening Surah of the Quran. It is so important that we are commanded to recite it in every salah at least 17 times a day.
In this Surah, Allah introduces Himself with two of His Attributes -- as Ar-Rahman Ar-Rahim.
الرحمان
The Intensely Merciful
الرحيم
The Continually Merciful
In Arabic, the pattern رحمان shows intensity. For example غضبات (intensely angry). The pattern رحيم shows continuity. For example جميل (beautiful), كريم (the one who has good manners)
So Allah is intensely merciful continuously merciful.
Multiply the intensity with continuity. We are drenched with Allah's mercy. Imagine all the mercy and favors that you have.
When you begin your prayers, bring to mind the so many favors that Allah has given you and recite al Fatihah with full of gratitude. And as a showing of gratitude, be kind to others after your prayers esepcially to your parents and those who are kind to you.
May Allah help us be kind to others. Aameen.
Allahumma salli 'ala Muhammad wa 'ala aalihi wa sahbihi wasallam.
And Allah knows best and is Most Wise, and He alone grants success, and to Him is the final return of all.
Wassalaam
