Name of Allah, Most Merciful, Most Compassionate
Allahumma salli 'ala Muhammad wa 'ala aalihi wa sahbihi wasallam
If you read the Quran with understanding, the Quran will inspire you, motivate you, energize you, and give you hope and take you to higher levels of moral, intellectual, and spiritual existence. It will make you a thinker, help you understand your position in this world, give you clarity of purpose of this life and a clear plan to work on, and give you true peace and happiness.
The Quran is the the best of all books. It provides a complete system of life which includes creed, worship, ethics, and laws. Yet when it is recited properly, it moves you deeply. It addresses every aspect of human existence, the mind and the heart, the soul, the intellect, and the rational and emotional sides.
The Quran was revealed over a period of 23 years. It is the guidance for people conscious of God. Those who followed it became world leaders within 50 years and remained so for centuries. Several historic inventions and significant contributions in numerous fields were made throughout the Islamic middle ages that revolutionized human history.
الم ﴿١﴾ ذَٰلِكَ الْكِتَابُ لَا رَيْبَ ۛ فِيهِ ۛ هُدًى لِّلْمُتَّقِينَ ﴿٢
Alif Lam Meem. This is the Book about which there is no doubt, a guidance for those conscious of Allah - [Quran, Al Baqarah 2:1-2]
The most amazing aspect of the Quran is that it was revealed to a prophet who did not know how to read and write. He did not travel outside his country. He was brought up in a location that was economically, politically isolated and educationally backward region without any university, college, or school. That is why there is no doubt that the Quran is from Allah.
Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala says in the Quran,
وَإِن كُنتُمْ فِي رَيْبٍ مِّمَّا نَزَّلْنَا عَلَىٰ عَبْدِنَا فَأْتُوا بِسُورَةٍ مِّن مِّثْلِهِ وَادْعُوا شُهَدَاءَكُم مِّن دُونِ اللَّـهِ إِن كُنتُمْ صَادِقِينَ ﴿٢٣
And if you are in doubt about what We have sent down upon Our Servant [Muhammad], then produce a surah the like thereof and call upon your witnesses other than Allah, if you should be truthful. [Quran, Al Baqarah 2:23]
This ayah is a proof that Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, is a true prophet and that the Quran is sent down by Allah, Exalted is He.
The Quran is a living miracle. It contains many historical facts and scientific truths that were discovered only recently. It has amazing numerical miracles. Its predictions came true. The Quran is free from any grammatical error. Arabic grammar is extremely sensitive to the Arabs. Even some educated Arabs make mistakes in their lectures. The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam could not read or write. It was a one-time delivery from him with no chance editing or corrections.
Can you say something very powerful and to the point even for a minute without making grammatical mistakes or aaa or eee. Even when we write, we edit it so many times. Long Surahs consisting of many pages were revealed in just one delivery. How could a person who did not know how to read or write deliver a perfect lecture, and that too a lengthy one?
The Quran has no contradiction anywhere. It is the only religious book which has been protected for the more than 1400 years. It is recited by almost a billion today and memorized by millions. Let's be one of them and have a daily routine of reading a portion of the Quran, understand it, ponder it and memorize it.
May Allah increase us in Imaan in the Quran, help us to live our lives in accordance with the Quran, and help us to spread the Message of the Quran. Aameen.
Allahumma salli 'ala Muhammad wa 'ala aalihi wa sahbihi wasallam
And Allah knows best and is Most Wise, and He alone grants success, and to Him is the final return of all.
