Every Friday Is Eid

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
In the Name of Allah, Most Merciful, Most Compassionate
Assalaamu alaykum

Dear Friends

I pray that you are well.

On Friday, there are certain blessings that may be bestowed particular to this day.

O ye who believe! When the call is proclaimed to prayer on Friday (The Day of Assembly), hasten earnestly to Remembrance of Allah, and leave off business (and traffic): That is best for you if ye but knew! (Qur'an Al-Jumu'ah 62:9)

On one Friday, the Prophet, Allah bless him and give him peace, said:

O Muslims! Allah Ta'ala has made this day a day of eid. So have a bath on this day, whoever has perfume should apply it, and use the miswak. (Ibn Majah)

On Friday, one should perform the major ritual purification (ghusl)--wash the body from head to toe thoroughly and completely. After making ghusl, a person should wear the best clothing that he possesses, and put on perfume (men only), if he has it. He should also clip his nails.

The highlight of Friday is the congregational Friday prayer. It is required of an adult, sane, resident male to attend this prayer.

One should try to go to the masjid very early for the Friday prayer. The earlier a person goes, the more reward he will receive. Listen to the khutbah and no talking or praying during the khutbah as it is part of your prayer.

Have a blessed Jumu'ah and please include us in your du'as.

And Allah knows best.
Wassalaam
