Understand Ayatul Kursi

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
Assalaamu alaykum

I pray that you are well.

"Whoever recites ayatul Kursi after every prescribed prayer, nothing prevents him from entering Paradise except death. (An-Nasa'i)

This is one of the translations of this greatest verse of the Qur'an.

"Allah there is no god but He, the Living, the All-Sustaining. Slumber seizes Him not, neither sleep; to Him belongs all that is in the heavens and the earth. Who is there that shall intercede with Him save by His leave? He knows what lies before them and what is after them, and they encompass none of His knowledge save such as He wills. His Footstool comprises the heavens and earth; the preserving of them tires Him not; He is the All-high, the Tremendous." Qur'an AlBaqarah 2:255

This verse is meant for you to feel like you are nothing. So we will act like someone who is nothing, not imagine how great we are. How can we feel this if we don't understand the meanings of what we recited. Qur'an is a linguistic miracle. We cannot come at it by translation or with simple Arabic, let alone with no Arabic. Before we get to the level of Arabic fluency, at the minimum know the translation and the tafsir available of each surah you read. InshaAllah with our zeal to come close to Allah, He will open the way for us to a sound understanding of His Speech.

May Allah give us Tawfiq. Ameen.
