Al-Ghaniyy (The One Free of All Needs)

In the Name of Allah, Most Merciful, Most Compassionate
Assalaamu alaykum

Dear Friends

I pray that you are well.

Allah is Al-Ghaniyy, the One free of all needs. He has the whole treasures of mercy and wealth, which are inexhaustible.

Allah created us and we exist because Allah is sustaining us. We are the ones who are in absolute need of Him and He is not in need of any of His creatures. He is absolutely rich, Self-Sufficient.

O Mankind, you are those in need of Allah, while Allah is the free of need, the Praiseworthy. (15) If He wills, He can do away with you and bring forth a new creation.(16) And that is for Allah not difficult. (17)
[Qur'an Fatir 35:15-17]

Our need for Allah is more immediate than what flows in our body. He is closer to us than our jugular veins.

And We have already created man and know what his soul whispers to him, and We are closer to him than [his] jugular vein.
[Qaf 50:16]

Once one becomes well aware of the fact that Allah Alone is Self-Sufficient, in Whose Possession are the whole treasures of all things in the heavens and the earth, he will never take refuge but with Him, nor will he ask but from Him, since none except Him has power to satisfy his needs.

The Prophet, Allah bless him and grant him peace, said if you ask help, then ask from Allah alone, and if you seek help, then seek help from Allah alone.

On the authority of Abu 'Abbas 'Abdillah bin 'Abbas (radiAllahu anhuma) who said: One day I was behind the Prophet (sallAllahu alayhi wa sallam) [riding on the same mount] and he said:

O young man, I shall teach you some words [of advice]: Be mindful of Allah and Allah will protect you. Be mindful of Allah and you will find Him in front of you. If you ask, then ask Allah [alone]; and if you seek help, then seek help from Allah [alone]. And know that if the Nation were to gather together to benefit you with anything, they would not benefit you except with what Allah had already prescribed for you. And if they were to gather together to harm you with anything, they would not harm you except with what Allah had already prescribed against you. The Pens have been lifted and the Pages have dried.
[It was related by at-Tirmidhi, who said it was a good and sound Hadith]

Make Allah the goal in life and seek Allah alone. To the extent the meaning is true in our lives, to that extent our actions are sincere, not only in our worship but in other deeds as well. In any action, before you begin, pause and consider what you are doing, and turn your hearts to Allah before you perform any action.

The Prophet, Allah bless him and grant him peace, said:

The difference between someone who remembers His Lord and someone who does not is like the difference between the living and the dead.
[Bukhari]

Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, said, that the Prophet, Allah bless him and grant him peace, was in remembrance of Allah in all his states.

Allah says,

Verily, in the Messenger of Allah, the most beautiful of examples for whoever seeks Allah and the Last Day and makes much remembrance of Allah.
[Qur'an Al-Ahzab 33:21]

...Verily, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find satisfaction.
[Qur'an Ar-Ra'd 13:28]

Prosperous indeed is the one who purifies himself (14) And mentions the Name of his Lord and prays (15)
[Qur'an Al-A'la 87:14-15]

The greatest remembrance of Allah is reciting the Qur'an itself because the Qur'an is healing for what is in the hearts, guidance and mercy.

Allah says,

O mankind, there has to come to you instruction from your Lord and healing for what is in the breasts and guidance and mercy for the believers.
[Qur'an Yunus 10:57]

Everything we have is a gift and blessing from Allah. Should we not be His thankful servants?

Narrated Aisha:
The Prophet, Allah bless him and grant him peace, used to offer prayer at night (for such a long time) that his feet used to crack. I said, "O Allah's Apostle! Why do you do it since Allah has forgiven you your faults of the past and those to follow?" He said, "Shouldn't I love to be a thankful slave (of Allah)?' When he became old, he prayed while sitting, but if he wanted to perform a bowing, he wound get up, recite (some other verses) and then perform the bowing.
[Bukhari]

We show our gratitude to Allah for what He gives us out of His bounty by doing whatever obligations and duties that are enjoined upon us, and by spending on the poor, the needy and those in need amongst our kinsmen, and making things easy for them.

O Allah, O Ghaniyy, enlarge sustenance for us, and bless us in it, and help us fulfill our debts. O Allah, we ask You to grant us faith, which never wavers, bliss which never perishes; bestow upon us the company of Your beloved Messenger, sallAllahu alayhi wa sallam, in the highest Gardens of Eternity. You have Power over all things and worthy of all Praises.

Ameen.

Please don't forget us in your night prayers. Jazakallahu khairan.

And Allah knows best.
Wassalaam
