Bismillah
Whenever Allah speaks about solat in the Quran, zakat is also mentioned.
So recite what is easy from it and establish prayer and give zakah and loan Allah a goodly loan.
[Quran, Al Muzzammil 73:20]
And He has made me blessed wherever I am and has enjoined upon me prayer and zakah as long as I remain alive. [Quran, Maryam 19:21]
Allah advised Isa ibn Maryam alayhissalaam to establish solat and give zakat. This advice was given because of the importance of zakat.
Zakat is obligated to be given when one reached the threshold amount (nisab) of certain amount of wealth. Allah, with His mercy and love, also instituted sadaqah (charity) which can be given by anyone, rich or poor, and gain reward. You can give any amount of sadaqah, there is no set amount. Even a penny to the masjid or half a date to the poor, is sadaqah and it will go a long way for you.
People love tmoney so much and Allah says this in Quran.
And you love wealth with immense love. [Quran, Al Fajr 89:20]
If you feel difficult to part with your money in zakat and charity, give and consider it a loan to Allah. He promised to will pay you back many times over. And Allah does not break His promise.
Who is it that would loan Allah a goodly loan so He may multiply it for him many times over? And it is Allah who withholds and grants abundance, and to Him you will be returned. [Quran, Al Baqarah 2:245]
Who is it that would loan Allah a goodly loan so He will multiply it for him and he will have a noble reward? [Quran, Al Hadid 57:11]
Indeed, the men who practice charity and the women who practice charity and [they who] have loaned Allah a goodly loan - it will be multiplied for them, and they will have a noble reward. [Quran, Al Hadid 57:18]
Zakat and charity is an investment that will never fail as long as you hope for Allah's reward alone.
May Allah make us of those who are grateful, pay their zakat and give charity. Aameen.
Allahumma salli ala Muhammad wa ala aalihi wasahbihi wasallam
