Always a Reason To Smile

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
In the Name of Allah, Most Merciful, Most Compassionate

Assalaamu alaykum

Dear Friends

I pray that you are well.

`Abdullah bin Harith bin Juz’ said,
I never saw anyone who smiled as often as the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wassallam.
[Tirmidhi]

Why aren't we smiling as often? Life is difficult? Times of difficulty and hardship are in reality blessings, and a time of returning back to Allah. When a person returns to Allah, seeking Him, and trusting in Him, He gives one opening -- a great reason to smile.

Allah Almighty says,

...And whoever fears Allah - He will make for him a way out (2) And will provide for him from where he does not expect. And whoever relies upon Allah - then He is sufficient for him. Indeed, Allah will accomplish His purpose. Allah has already set for everything a [decreed] extent. (3)
[Qur'an, At-Talaq 65: 2-3]

Realize the words of the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wassallam,
How amazing is the matter of the believer! All of his matter is good, and this is not for anyone except the believer. If ease comes his way, he is thankful, so it is good for him. And if hard times hit him, he is patient, so it is good for him.
[Muslim]

The sunna of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wassalaam tells us to be constantly cheerful, smiling and easy-going, even in the face of setbacks and adversity.

It is said that whenever you smile, it is said that your brain is releasing serotonin, the happy hormone, and that it is widely believed that a serotonin deficiency plays a role in depression.

No matter how terrible you feel, smile to the person next to you -- you are rewarded for your smiley faces.

The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wassallam, said, "Your smile for your brother is charity." It is charity for you because it makes you feel happy and it is charity for others because it makes them happy. Remember, "Charity is prescribed for each descendant of Adam every day the sun rises."

There is always a reason to smile, find it, smile and keep smiling. May Allah reward you. Ameen.

Please don't keep us your night prayers. Jazakum Allahu khairan.

And Allah knows best.
Wassallam
