How to be a Righteous Child

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

How to be a Righteous Child

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "When a person dies, all action is cut off for him with the exception of three things: Sadaqa (charity) which continues, knowledge which benefits, or a righteous child who makes supplication for him."

Allah taught us how to be a righteous child in the Quran,

“And your Lord has decreed that you not worship except Him, and to parents, good treatment. Whether one or both of them reach old age [while] with you, say not to them [so much as], ‘uff,’ and do not repel them but speak to them a noble word. And lower to them the wing of humility out of mercy and say, "My Lord, have mercy upon them as they brought me up [when I was] small." [Quran, Al-Isra’ 17:23-24]

If you are able to make this du’a for your parents, it is a sign that Allah is elevating you to the status of a righteous child. So, keep making this du’a-- not just in your prayers, but also outside of prayers.
