Tie Your Camel And Tawakkul

Allah has linked efforts with causes. Nothing comes for free. There must be an effort before you get to your goal. Even the miracle of the night journey of the Prophet sallallahu layhi wasallam, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam, has to saddle and mount the borak that took him from Makkah to Jerusalem.

Exalted is He who took His Servant by night from al-Masjid al-Haram to al-Masjid al-Aqsa, whose surroundings We have blessed, to show him of Our signs. Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Seeing. (Surah Al Isra')

Allah was going to bless Maryam with the dates but it doesn't just fall from the tree. She has to put in the effort by shaking the trunk however slight.

And shake toward you the trunk of the palm tree; it will drop upon you ripe, fresh dates. (Surah Maryam)

To part the sea, Musa alayhissalaam had to strike the sea with his staff.

Then We inspired to Moses, "Strike with your staff the sea," and it parted, and each portion was like a great towering mountain. (Surah Ash Shu'ara)

If you want money, you have to work. If you are sick, you take the medicine if want to be cured. If you want knowledge, you have to seek it. You don't just sit at home and say tawakkal 'ala Allah.
