BismillahirRahmanirRahim
Assalaamu alaykum
I pray that you are well.
It is important to never look at our deeds as being tremendous because they can never be better than the Prophet's, Allah bless him and grant him peace. He was infallible and absolutely perfect, and yet he was told to ask for forgiveness. He repented to Allah and asked for His forgiveness more than 70 times a day. So even after we finish a good deed, even if we think we did not do anything wrong, we ask Allah for His forgiveness because He deserves more and we did not give Him what He deserves. When you raise your hands, asking for His forgiveness, let it out, cry, weep, don't simply saying it on the tongue, mean it, ask for His mercy. He knows what is in your hearts--nothing to hide. He listens inshaAllah.
"Say: Whether you hide what is in your hearts or manifest it, Allah knows it, and He knows whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth, and Allah has power over all things." Qur'an AleImran 3:29
"Your Lord knows best what is in your hearts; if you are good, then He is surely Forgiving to those who turn (to Him) frequently. Qur'an al-Israa 17:25
May Allah have mercy on us and forgive us. Ameen.
Wassalaam
