There are about 150 prepositions in English. Here is a short list of 70 of the more common one-word prepositions.

If you have children in grade or elementary school, they probably are required to memorize most of these prepositions and know their meanings. You too once upon a time might have to do the same. Many of these prepositions have more than one meaning. I am sure your children put a great deal of time patiently memorizing these prepositions and learning their meanings, and you also did your part to help them and make sure they do so because you want to make sure that they pass their English test and know English well so they can get ahead in life.

Do you put the same or even half the emphasis on your children to memorize and learn the Names of Allah, so they know the One who created them and the One who is providing for them?

If you haven't started teaching them at home and making sure your children know the beautiful Names and Attributes of Allah, you should not postpone any longer. There is a lot of material in the internet to interest them and to get them started. You don't need to wait until you send them to an Islamic school which may or may not have learning the Names and Attributes of Allah in their curriculum.

Start them early. Remember, if you don't put this in their minds, something else will occupy their fresh and innocent minds and it might not necessarily be good stuff.

Imagine your child is at the gate of the palace of a King.

Gatekeeper: "Who are you going to see?"
Your child: "I am going to see the King."
Gatekeeper: "What is his name?"
Your child: "I don't know!" or "I am not sure!"
Gatekeeper: "Tell me about his attributes."
Your child: "Ummmmm, I don't know much about it." or "Errrrrrr, I don't know! My mom and dad didn't tell me!" or "I go to George W. Bush (or Washington, Adams, Jefferson, Lincoln, Grant, Roosevelt, Hamilton, Jackson, John F Kennedy) school. They only teach me the names of Presidents in my school!"

Well, it is not likely your child will be admitted into the palace to see the king. He doesn't know anything about the king and he doesn't respect the king to know enough about him.

The knowledge of the beautiful Names and Attributes of Allah is knowledge of the King. Spending our time to know more about the King and teach our children this should take priority in our lives so we might be admitted into His Pleasure.
