Assalaamu alaykum
Dear Friends
I pray that you are well.
We are pleased with Allah as our Lord. We are pleased with the Prophet, Allah bless him and grant him peace, as His Messenger. We are happy with Islam as our religion (deen). If you are not, then find a way to feel this way. Otherwise, you are losing a great deal and your worship is nothing more than a body without spirit.
Islam is true and everything else besides is false. If you are not clear about this, then find clarity. Go learn this deen properly. It is your best investment.
كَيْفَ تَكْفُرُونَ بِاللَّـهِ وَكُنتُمْ أَمْوَاتًا فَأَحْيَاكُمْ ۖ ثُمَّ يُمِيتُكُمْ ثُمَّ يُحْيِيكُمْ ثُمَّ إِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ ﴿٢٨﴾ هُوَ الَّذِي خَلَقَ لَكُم مَّا فِي الْأَرْضِ جَمِيعًا ثُمَّ اسْتَوَىٰ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ فَسَوَّاهُنَّ سَبْعَ سَمَاوَاتٍ ۚ وَهُوَ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيمٌ ﴿٢٩[Qur'an Al-Baqarah 2:28-29]
How can you disbelieve in Allah when you were lifeless and He brought you to life; then He will cause you to die, then He will bring you [back] to life, and then to Him you will be returned. (28) It is He who created for you all of that which is on the earth. Then He directed Himself to the heaven, [His being above all creation], and made them seven heavens, and He is Knowing of all things. (29)
Allah has commanded us to do many things. He has commanded us to live our lives in a certain way, following the Prophetic guidance. He has commanded us to pray, to fast, to give zakat, to feed the poor and the orphans, to go to hajj, to be of good character, to put on our hijab, to lower your gaze, to be kind to our parents, to maintain family ties, to give people their due rights, to eat halal, to guard our tongues, to have haya, to protect our private parts, to seek knowledge, and so on. He has commanded us not to steal, cheat, lie, slander, backbite, harm others, sever family ties, eat/drink haram, take property of orphans, and so on.
There is a tremendous benefit for you to obey what Allah has commanded us and you will avert tremendous detriment when you avoid what He prohibits. If we obey Allah, we will gain in this life before the next. It is by His sheer generosity that He reward us with good in this life and the next when we obey Him. He could make it the other way. So when we follow His commands, it should be with a heart full of gratitude.
Everything that Allah has commanded us to do has a hidden benefit within them. Whether you see it or not, it does not change anything. We must obey Allah's commands because He is the Master and we are the slaves of the Master. Venerating the command is this spirit of slavehood and submission, which is the key to the closeness to Allah and the key to the greatest joy in this life.
If it seems barbaric, unfair, cruel or don't make sense, don't be foolish and turn against Allah because He doesn't need us but we need Him; He knows what is good for us but we don't know; He does not wrong us but we wrong ourselves.
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا قُوا أَنفُسَكُمْ وَأَهْلِيكُمْ نَارًا وَقُودُهَا النَّاسُ وَالْحِجَارَةُ عَلَيْهَا مَلَائِكَةٌ غِلَاظٌ شِدَادٌ لَّا يَعْصُونَ اللَّـهَ مَا أَمَرَهُمْ وَيَفْعَلُونَ مَا يُؤْمَرُونَ ﴿٦
O you who have believed, protect yourselves and your families from a Fire whose fuel is people and stones, over which are [appointed] angels, harsh and severe; they do not disobey Allah in what He commands them but do what they are commanded. (6) [Qur'an At-Tahrim 66:6]
When Allah commands us to do something it becomes good. Nothing is more beneficial for us than doing what Allah has commanded us to do.
يَا أَيَّتُهَا النَّفْسُ الْمُطْمَئِنَّةُ ﴿٢٧﴾ ارْجِعِي إِلَىٰ رَبِّكِ رَاضِيَةً مَّرْضِيَّةً ﴿٢٨﴾ فَادْخُلِي فِي عِبَادِي ﴿٢٩﴾ وَادْخُلِي جَنَّتِي ﴿٣٠(30) [Qur'an Al-Fajr 89:27-30]
As for an obedient man, it will be said to him,) “O content soul, (27) Come back to your Lord, well-pleased, well-pleasing. 6 (28) So, enter among My (special) servants, (29) And enter My Paradise.” (30)
May Allah grant us tawfiq to do what pleases Him. Ameen.
