The Best Book

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
In the Name of Allah, Most Merciful, Most Compassionate
Assalaamu alaykum

Dear Friends

I pray that you are well.

It's back to school again. We see so many books being carried around by students of all levels of study. And they did the same last year and they will do the same next year until they graduate from college. Everyone must have read and studied no less than 100 books of different subjects from the time they begin elementary school until they graduate from college.

Allah gave us only one Book, less than 600 pages, which is the only Book that can truly help us in our lives, as an individual and as a society. But we don't study it. Most people feel burdened when you ask them to learn the Qur'an. Most non-Arab don't understand the Qur'an, and so they pray without understanding. We need to change this, starting with us and our own families.

If you are serious about learning the Book of Allah, there is nothing stopping you, not even the shaytan. It does not take more than a few weeks to learn the short surahs that people frequently recite during prayer and understand basic Arabic grammar. Nothing is easy at the beginning and there has to be some struggle and some sacrifice but you are not without help. Remember, if you walk to Allah, He will come to you running. You just have to take the first few steps and the rest will be easy and the blessings/reward is tremendous.

Imagine the Day when everyone will be worried about himself/herself.

On the Day a man will flee from his brother (34) And his mother and his father (35) And his wife and his children, (36) For every man, that Day, will be a matter adequate for him (37)
[Qur'an Abasa 80:34-37]

Imagine if at that time the Qur'an comes to you and says, "Come along with me, I will take you to Allah and request Him to forgive your sins." Imagine the happiness you will have on that Day.

Abu Umamah, may Allah be pleased with him, said, “I heard the Messenger of Allah, Allah bless him and grant him peace, saying, ‘Recite the Quran, for it comes on the Day of Resurrection as an intercessor to its holder.’“ [Muslim]

To receive that intercession, let's make the Qur'an our companion--that is we learn it, implement it and propagate it to others.

May Allah make us of People of the Qur'an, His most elect. May Allah grant us the ability to learn the Qur'an and apply it in our lives. Ameen.

Please don't forget us in your night prayers. Jazakallahu khairan.

And Allah knows best.
Wassalaam
