Some Virtues of Reciting the Qur'an

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
In the Name of Allah, Most Merciful, Most Compassionate
Assalaamu alaykum

Dear Friends

I pray that you are well.

Allah Almighty says,

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ قَدْ جَآءَتْكُم مَّوْعِظَةٌ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ وَشِفَآءٌ لِّمَا فِى ٱلصُّدُورِ وَهُدًى وَرَحْمَةٌ لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ﴿٥٧

O mankind, there has to come to you instruction from your Lord and healing for what is in the breasts and guidance and mercy for the believers. (57)

[Qur'an Yunus 10:57]

ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَتَطْمَئِنُّ قُلُوبُهُم بِذِكْرِ ٱللَّـهِ ۗ أَلَا بِذِكْرِ ٱللَّـهِ تَطْمَئِنُّ ٱلْقُلُوبُ ﴿٢٨

Who have believed and whose hearts have rest in the remembrance of Allah. Verily in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest. (28)

The ranks of the believers in Paradise are according to their deeds and diligence in this worldly life. The rank of the one who is keen in keeping on reciting the Quran is greater than the rank of the one who does not keep on reading it.

‘Umar ibn Al-Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated that the Messenger of Allah, Allah bless him and grant him peace, has said, “By this book (the Qur’an), Allah would exalt (to a high status) some people and degrade others.” [Muslim]

‘Uthman ibn ‘Affân, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated that the Messenger of Allah, Allah bless him and grant him peace, has said, “The best among you is the one who learns the Quran and then teaches it.” [Bukhari]

Through reciting it, you will be with the angels: the noble righteous scribes (in Heaven).

Aisha, may Allah be pleased with him her, narrated that the Messenger of Allah, Allah bless him and grant him peace, has said, “Whoever recites the Quran and masters it by heart, will be with the noble righteous scribes (in Heaven). Moreover, whoever recites the Quran and stutters with it, and it is difficult for him, will have a double reward.” [Muslim]

Abu Umamah, may Allah be pleased with him, said, “I heard the Messenger of Allah, Allah bless him and grant him peace, saying, ‘Recite the Quran, for it comes on the Day of Resurrection as an intercessor to its holder.’“ [Muslim]

May Allah make us among the close people of Allah and grant us tawfiq to the highest station. Ameen.
