End of Ramadhan, Beginning of Shawwal

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
In the Name of Allah, Most Merciful, Most Compassionate
Assalaamu alaykum

Dear Friends

I pray that you are well.

Eid Mubarak to everyone and may your hearts be tranquil.

We should observe the sunnah of Eid Fitr and go to the Eid prayer. This is to show our gratitude to Allah for the blessings of Ramadhan and the ability to worship Him this past month.

Some of the sunnah of Eid Fitr are as follows:

To wake up very early in the morning
To have a bath
To use miswak
To adorn oneself according to the Shari'a
To wear the best of clothing which one possesses
To apply perfume (men only)
To eat something sweet, such as dates, before going to the Eid prayer place
To go early to the Eid prayer place
To say the takbir softly while walking towards the Eid prayer place
To give the sadaqatul fitr before going to the Eid prayer place. Sadaqatul fitr is obligatory on every Muslim.
To offer the Eid prayer in the Eid prayer place. That is, one should not offer Eid prayer in the masjid without any valid reason. Listening to the khutbah of Eid is necessary just as it is necessary for the khutbah of Friday, i.e. while the khutbah is being delivered, it is sinful to talk, walk about or offer prayer
To return from the Eid prayer place taking a route that is different from the one that he had taken when going towards the Eid prayer place.
To go to the Eid prayer place on foot

It is recommended to fast 6 days in Shawwal and it is better to fast 6 consecutive days from the 2nd Shawwal. The Prophet, Allah bless him and grant him peace, said that whoever fasts Ramadan and then fasts six days in the month of Shawwal has fasted the whole year.

The Prophet, Allah bless him and grant him peace, said:
Whoever fasts Ramadhan and follows it up with six from Shawwal, it is as though he has fasted all of time, because each day is equivalent to ten days. Whoever performs a good deed, he will have ten like it.
May Allah continue to shower us with His blessings. Ameen. Please don't forget us in your du'as. Jazakallahu khairan.

And Allah knows best.
Wassalaam
