Quit The Display

Assalaamu alaykum

Dear Friends

I pray that you are well.

Although the one walking in front of me have a body that should easily win her a swim suit beauty pageant but it wasn't a beautiful picture. In fact it was a disgusting picture that bring fitnah to people around. Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un.

She was wearing a head cover with tight jeans and tight top. Many women fall into this mistaken belief that hijaab is covering the head. Never mind about the rest of the body, which actually can create more fitnah? And too many women tell themselves that they are not ready for a true hijaab and so they put on something on their heads as if it makes them feel like they are obeying Allah. Just like marriage, you either married or you are not. There is nothing in between. So, you either obey Allah or you are not. Wear hijaab the correct way or you are not obeying Allah.

My teen son who was walking beside me at the time must have felt so embarrassed when he was confronted with the fitnah, that he leaped over the concrete banks towards our right to escape the sight. Alhamdulillah he didn't slip. I kept walking behind the young lady who was walking with her mother (I presumed), as uncomfortable as I was, hoping to stop her and correct her but we were separated by the traffic. Nonetheless, it was a good reminder for me and my son to be grateful to Allah, that He makes us detest what we saw.

All girls and ladies who think, "It is my body and I can do whatever I like with it," no, it is not your body and you cannot do whatever you like with it. Allah entrusted that body to you and He has set limits for you. You must not go beyond that limit by exposing what He didn't want you to expose because exposing them not only harm you, but harm others as well. You may not think much now about disobeying Allah, but wait.

To appreciate this, let us fast forward 20 years and this woman has been married for some time and never seem able to shed off the baby weight she gained during her pregnancies--each pregnancy she put on more pounds and no jeans can fit her without showing all the spares. Now, she and her husband happen to walk behind some lady looking just like her now. Her husband couldn't keep his eyes off the woman? How does that make her feel? Where will the marriage go from here? If you think you can attract men with such clothing and display, yes you can indeed, but not the good ones.

So, quit the display or it will come back and haunt you.

ٱلْخَبِيثَـٰتُ لِلْخَبِيثِينَ وَٱلْخَبِيثُونَ لِلْخَبِيثَـٰتِ ۖ وَٱلطَّيِّبَـٰتُ لِلطَّيِّبِينَ وَٱلطَّيِّبُونَ لِلطَّيِّبَـٰتِ ۚ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ مُبَرَّءُونَ مِمَّا يَقُولُونَ ۖ لَهُم مَّغْفِرَةٌ وَرِزْقٌ كَرِيمٌ ﴿٢٦

Corrupt women for corrupt men, and corrupt men for corrupt women; good (pure) women for good (pure) men, and good (pure) men for good (pure) women -- these are not affected by what people say: theirs shall be forgiveness and generous provision.

Correct Hijaab
