If You Crave for Allah to Love You

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

If You Crave for Allah to Love You

It was narrated that Mu'adh bin Jabal said: "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) took my hand and said: 'I love you, O Mu'adh!' I said: 'And I love you, O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ).' Then the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Never forget to say in every prayer:

رَبِّ أَعِنِّي عَلَى ذِكْرِكَ وَشُكْرِكَ وَحُسْنِ عِبَادَتِكَ

Rabbi a'inni 'ala dhikrika wa shukrika wa husni 'ibadatik
(My Lord, help me to remember You, give thanks (shukr) to You, and to excel in worshipping You)"[Sunan An-Nasa’i]

These words are destined for us to hear. When we hear the words of the Prophet (ﷺ), that should be our best day. He didn’t address just Muadh; he wanted these words to resonate through the universe for more than 1400 years until they reached our ears. These words are destined for us to hear because we do not believe in chance but in decree.

The Prophet (ﷺ) loves Mu’adh ibn Jabal. When someone is loved by the Prophet (ﷺ), he is loved by Allah. If someone is loved by the Prophet (ﷺ), he should definitely have traits that I would like to adorn myself with.

The scholars said the reason the Prophet (ﷺ) loves Muadh is because of his knowledge of fiqh and his Quran. The Prophet (ﷺ) said if you want to learn the Quran, go to 4 people, and Muadh is one of them. People of the Quran are the chosen people of Allah.

If Muadh was loved by the Prophet (ﷺ) and your love of the Prophet (ﷺ) is true, go and learn about the life of Muadh and adorn yourself with his traits.

If you crave to be loved by Allah, then say these 3 things that the Prophet (ﷺ) told Muadh to say after each prayer as in the hadith:

رَبِّ أَعِنِّي عَلَى ذِكْرِكَ وَشُكْرِكَ وَحُسْنِ عِبَادَتِكَ

May Allah make this beenficial for us. Aameen.
