Measuring Our Worth With Allah
All of us will go through many tests in this life to measure our worth with Allah. Some are tested with bad parents, some with bad spouses, some with bad neighbors, some with bad children, some with bad in-laws, some with bad bosses, some with bad friends, and some with all of the above.
We are tests of each other. This is our jihad in this life, and it will end with our defeat or victory. We can attain victory only if we act and react in accordance with the teachings of the Prophet (ﷺ).
How do you act or react appropriately if you don’t know? True knowledge doesn’t come from watching random lectures here and there on the internet or at conferences. It is important to learn the Deen step by step and from qualified teachers; like everything else, you can’t get a Master's or PhD without going through K through 12, high school, and undergraduate studies. There is no shortcut in the Deen; you will be overwhelmed and gain nothing if you try to do that.
People are willing to spend years and lots of money to acquire worldly knowledge, but not so when it comes to the Deen. We must change this attitude because this world is temporal, but the Hereafter is eternal.
