Parents' First Responsibilty

Parents! Please take this ayah seriously. Allah is talking to you directly. Save your family from Hell. Allah Almighty says,

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ قُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَكُمْ وَأَهْلِيكُمْ نَارًا وَقُودُهَا ٱلنَّاسُ وَٱلْحِجَارَةُ عَلَيْهَا مَلَـٰٓئِكَةٌ غِلَاظٌ شِدَادٌ لَّا يَعْصُونَ ٱللَّهَ مَآ أَمَرَهُمْ وَيَفْعَلُونَ مَا يُؤْمَرُونَ ﴿٦

 O you who have believed, protect yourselves and your families from a Fire whose fuel is people and stones, over which are [appointed] angels, harsh and severe; they do not disobey Allah in what He commands them but do what they are commanded. [Qur'an, At-Tahrim 66:6]

You want your children to thrive in this Dunya. So, you sent them to schools to learn the trade. You give them all the latest gadgets, video games, and even cars when they turn 16, so they are happy and smile at you. But what about for the akhirah? Do you put as much time, effort, and money for them to be successful in the akhirah? If they don’t know their Deen, if they don’t care to pray or go to the masjid, what do you think will happen to you and them there? 

This ayah is a very powerful reminder for parents. Save yourself and your families from Hell! Save yourself and your families from Hell! Save yourself and your families from Hell! Prioritize what you do in this life and teach your children Islam.
